n2wdw
When you look at pictures of my comic room, probably you see an unorganized mess. But really it's organized and I know where everything is. Take for example this bookcase. In front you see two piles of stuff leaning against the the bookcase. I've labeled them 1 and 2. Let's start with #2 first. That's my collection of stuff by Philippe Berthet, the artist from Brussels. Here are a couple of examples: #1 is my collection of DC's Bombshell series. I'm also getting the corresponding statues. Here are the Supergirl comic and the corresponding Supergirl statue (shown with the white arrow). It's cool to have it in both 2D and 3D. Here are a couple more Bombshell statues from my collection (I don't have the comics yet). Thanks for reading. thehumantorch
Popular Post n2wdw
Continuing the tour of that bookcase, I've got a stack of books on the top shelf (labeled as 3) that are my larger size Dave Stevens' books. One thing I'm particularly proud of, I've got the top rated Dave Stevens CGC registry set (you can link to it from my signature). To the right of that bookshelf are some other shelves, and on top are most of my Stevens' CGC graded comics. I keep them in 2 stacks. I also have another shelf where I display some of my Stevens' books: Edited October 29, 2018 by n2wdw Sqeggs, szav, bounty_coder and 3 others
n2wdw
I sent in my cross-over books today. Came to 22 comics. Normally I use the Value tier, but the on-line form made me use Standard. That was annoying, but with the 50% pricing, I just went with it rather than calling CGC to work it out. I'll be interested if this results in a faster turnaround (Standard versus Value is supposed to be 3 times faster.) I'm also excited to see the books back. Will they hold or go down in grade? Will some even go up? Will CGC catch more restoration? I'll report when I get the books back. Patriot6 and sagii
Yorick
With the CrossOver service, I kinda wish we could pop-out and keep some of the old labels (especially that verified signature label). I'd just tape it to the back of any new slab. Awesome Stevens collection!

n2wdw
Halloween was an exciting night for Millie the Model eBay auctions. For the last year or so I've been trying to collect Millie 1-10. Last night, I lost on 8 and 9 but I was okay with that, due to the writing on Millie's legs. I won though on the one I really wanted, Millie #7 with the classic GGA mirror cover! Even better, I got it at 70% of my max bid! Now I hope to get the book before CGC's crossover promotion ends. n2wdw
My Home Office And Collecting Equipment I have my home office in the comic room. It's shown as Desk 1 in the map. I like working at this desk because I'm surrounded by my collection. Under Desk 1 are some pull out shelves I rigged up. I'm kind of proud of them as I'm certainly not a handy man. It's amazing what you can do with stuff from Home Depot. I've finally gotten rid of the big HP legal size scanner. I used to scan CGC books with it. But it's too big and I haven't been satisfied with the quality. Nowadays for CGC books and larger items, I use my iPad, tripod, photo box and remote trigger to take pictures -- I've written about this before. For raw comics and mags (and small items), I use the Canon LiDE 220 scanner which is cheap and meets my quality standards, and it's small. Next to the scanner I've got a cutting board, which is critical for trimming mylar and acid free boards. Thanks for reading. szav

I got my restored copy for $200. For an unrestored 6.0 and for a risque cover like this, it would go easily for $600, and probably on eBay you'd see it listed for $1000 or more. Popular Post n2wdw
Update on CGC Crossover Service CGC has already gotten back to me on my crossover books that I sent in last week. They pre-grade the books in the other company's slabs, and they ask for each book if I want to move forward with the CGC grading. For example, here's a message they sent me: Quote On the Li'l Abner Joint the Navy the graders estimated that this could grade out at 4.0-4.5 at CGC's grading standards. This is currently in a PGX case as a 6.0 Did you still want to proceed with the CGC grading? On most of them, CGC is predicting a lower grade. I expected that. I told CGC to proceed with their grading for all the comics I sent in, except for this one: Quote On the Spawn 5 the graders estimated that this could grade around a 9.6-9.8. This is currently in a EGS GLOBAL GRADE of 9.9. Did you still want to proceed with the CGC grading? I decided not to regrade this one. I think the EGS slab is cool, and I didn't want to risk the 9.9 grade dropping to 9.6. Interestingly, CGC also noted when a press would help, like this next message. Here, they predicted the grade rising by as much as a whole point with a press. Quote On the Nellie the Nurse 3 the graders think this book could benefit from a press and if pressed estimated a grade of 5.5-6.0 at CGC's grading standards. This is currently in a CBCS case as a 5.0 The pressing fee would be $60 in addition to the CGC grading fees. Did you want to proceed with the pressing and grading on this comic? For $60 bucks I decided to go with the press for Nellie 3. CGC also noted where restoration removal would help, like this message: Quote On the Sheena 4 the graders think this book could benefit from a restoration removal and if removed estimated a grade of 6.0-6.5 at CGC's grading standards. This is currently in a CBCS restored case as a 7.0. The removal fee would be $60 in addition to the CGC grading fees. Did you want to proceed with the removal and grading on this comic? To remove the restoration, CGC predicted a drop in grade from 7.0 (in its current restored state) to 6.0-6.5 (blue). And it would cost $60 for the removal. For me it was a no-brainer to remove the restoration. walclark, PopKulture, Microbia and 2 others 4
walclark
With everything dropping in grade, you’re going to save a ton of money in grading fees. Good call on the Sheena.
