Wizard World Peoria -- Postponed 0

I'm hearing that the booming metropolis of Peoria, Illinois will be the next town to get a new 2018 Wizard show.

Edit: dates posted, and they're shoehorning it into 2017

And...now it's postponed.

Pretty much what I said. They are really starting to get down to the C and D level cities/towns. No offense to any Peorians (Peoriites?) intended, but Peoria would not have made my list of markets that Wizard needed to move into in an effort to stop the bleeding.

It reeks of desperation.  My guess is they got a convention space cheap and see this as an easy way to make a quick buck while putting on a less than mediocre show that they hope everyone will forget about after its over.

I feel bad for anyone who pays those prices to go to a show that's being organized with only 2 months to bring in guests and vendors.

If it were cheaper, I agree. But at $55-60 for one day, plus gas, it seems like a lot to see this

All these tacked-on 2017 shows in small markets smack of desperation and look really shaky.

Art, is there any way to find out what the booth fees are for this show? I looked on the WW website, but came up empty-handed

They said the dates weren't accurate, but this'll give you an idea. Can't see them going much cheaper than these shows.

I wasn't aware that the half booth was $800 for wizard world chicago. 

Maybe it's time I set up

Too far for me I considered it, but looks like 4 hour drive for me that's just too far for new show.

Booth fees for the new shows according to information at the Wizard end of show meeting at Chicago will be $800 for a 10x10 retail booth.  Pretty steep for an untested show but less than the fees for the established shows
