I really don't know much about books that fall under an 8.0, my completely uneducated guess is a 4.5-5.0 

 

The bottom staple is loose but not detached.

Please give me your best guess as to a fair monetary value, or approximate grade. 

I am trying to buy the book, but I do not know how hard the loose staple hits the grade. I have a pretty good eye for VF or better, but lower grades are beyond me.

I understand what you mean about 'anything below 8.0'. I'm usually good to about 4.5 VG+, anything below that, to me, is drek. I think this book is better than 4.5,  at best 5.5 . The long diagonal creases on the back will hold it in that range. The OWL card is pretty useless, IMO, the pages are OW but the lighting looks dark.

I'm in agreement with the 4.5/5.0. Think there are some pressable defects on the bottom right FC but would worry about the loose staple popping.  

Buying raw though I'd personally be a player in the $350-$450 for this one.

Looks like 5.0 to me. Hard to tell how bad that staple is through pictures but that's my best guess.

The staple is bad, just tight enough to not wiggle out.
