Some books from the Golden Years, Real and Raw WW computer story posted;)
2 2

79 posts in this topic

For sale today will be about 20 lower grade, Golden Age comics.

Some were listed at the VCC, but I don't think too many people saw them. A few might have been listed a while ago. I've discounted the prices on all of them, some quite a bit.

U.S. Shipping

For any book under $50 (and there are a few) I can ship first class in a cardboard mailer with boards for $3.00, I can fit up to 2 books in the mailer, but I won't be able to add any free stuff and I like to add free stuff;)

I really prefer sending the other books boxed, so US Shipping $7-$11 regional A priority boxed for as many as you buy. If you are somewhere near NY, figure $7 or less, if you are in California, figure $11.

If you buy something for more than $200 it will be sent signature required, I will pay that cost.

If you prefer a flat rate envelope, I do have strong boards, but they take up a lot of space, so I can only fit 2 of these books in safely. FR envelope would be $6 (anywhere in the US) for up to 2 books.

I pay for private insurance so that is included and I always use tracking, so that is included too.

I'm happy to ship out of the U.S. For exact shipping. Anything over $200 must be mailed with a signature for out of the US.

None of these books have been pressed or cleaned. There will be a few freebies.

Payment by paypal, check or MO. Time payments are possible, but contact me before taking anything please if you need time payments.

The first take it, in the thread or in a pm wins. In case of a tie the decision is mine.

Returns for any reason. You must notify me within 3 days of receipt if you want to make a return and you must return the book within 7 days, mailed and packed the same way I sent it to you. Return postage is the responsibility of the buyer unless I made an error.

No list people please, and payment unless we come to some agreement on time payments, is due within 5 days.

Thank you:)

I'm trying to stop watching the weather channel, so I figured I'd list these all this morning.  Hope everyone in Florida and the surrounding States stays safe.

Batman 13 Joker Story sold to thirdgreenham

The Batman ditches Robin for a replacement, OH NO!

Cover is detached and has obvious holes, it's not completely split, a little less than 1/2 is attached. The pages are nice, around a cream color. There is a small piece off the back page. Cover colors are great.

A 2.0 sold recently for $400, this is not a 2.0, I's say between Fair+ if there were such a thing and 1.5 maybe if they are generous 1.8. Anyway, it's lower grade.

Grade is Fair+ (if there is such a thing;) Bin is $225

Comic Cavalcade #29, 1945

Attention all Computer fans, Wonder Woman and Dr. Calculus invent a computer/”thinking machine in 1945.

Some of these issues are not easy to find, but the books after #20 are scarce. This is the last book in the original series, the one with Wonder Woman, GL and Flash, the series does continue with funny animals.

The book is complete, but the pages are separating from the spine (they are normally glued in) The last few are completely loose, they are light and supple. If you'd like to do a little amateur restoration, some glue might work;)

Grade is low;) Bin is $95

Can't find my inside pictures for this one, I'll add some a little later.

Exciting Comics #53, 1946, 10 on the census.

Miss Masque, Schomberg cover.

There is some splitting at the bottom of the spine. Cover is detached at the bottom staple, centerfold is detached. Tear on a back page (see the pictures). Cover colors are excellent, page quality seems supple (except for the splits).

Grade is Fair/Gd because of the split.

There isn't much to compare this with price wise, last gpa sale was 2/2016 (5.0) for $1300. There is a coverless on eBay for $50 and a partial copy, missing the Miss Masque story etc for $99.

Take a complete readable copy with a full image cover for $265.00.

Sha - you are going to have to post like lightning. Both Andy and I in a buying mood?  Oh dear...

I'm trying, lol...but the pictures take a long time to load. I took too many;) but with lower grade books I'd rather people see the flaws than be surprised.

Famous Funnies #80, 1941 sold to comcav

Book is complete, but is missing the staples. There is paint on the upper right, there must have been scraping that was covered (this is an Evelyn book), the color is pretty good, I almost missed it.

MCS has a 1.8 on eBay for $33, I have no clue what to grade this one, but my guess is, it's at least 1.8 (apparent), take it for $10 and enjoy it.
