Only 288 of them though according to the GCD, so Action Comics are still winning on 583 :preach:

Darn you beat me to the GIC logo. GIC had the best logo of the DC War books in my opinion.

Another logo change I was not fond of....

That top logo is itself a change, an inept redrawing of the original FF logo - which like most of the Marvel SA logos has never been improved on by later versions.

The best logo designer in comics history was Ira Schnapp.  He did the following:

They are good logos aren't they. And 'Action' lasted 583 issues so that says something. Off topic a bit, but do tell us more about those books please @Moondog - I don't know much about them and they look fantastic.

Actually, the image.jpeg.cfb366c274af0e77e4b644ae95f0ec29.jpeg title logo is probably one of the most recognisable logos there is, even making the 1978 films. You'd likely recognise it whatever word was used.

423 issues it lasted like this...

...until the now customary coollogo_com-161502318.thumb.png.906ee03c9aea9fb5fdddfa785bc4d344.png arrived with issue 424:

I'm still waiting for:

  1. A title logo that lasted longer than Action Comics (583 issues)
  2. A change in a title logo that was conclusively for the better. So far almost all have been rotten

Lively!

I'm a big Silver Age Marvel fan, but I much prefer the second Avengers logo to the original.

If I'm honest, I like both of them two @Dave2739.

@Paul_Maul posted the third version earlier on, and that's a more obvious downward turn in quality, wouldn't you say?:

Totally agree. However, I was incorrect in referring to my preferred Avengers logo as the "second logo". I forgot about the handful of issues that used this "Mighty Avengers" version. It's okay, but I still like the one with the arrow in the "A" the best.

Yes, that's not too hot that one is it.

The arrow A is probably the best stylistically, and it's implication of moving forward goes well with the Avengers Assemble line I think. It's funny how important these things can be, especially when you're young. I can still remember the feeling of horror as a kid when they changed the Spider-Man Comics Weekly logo. It meant I couldn't lay them all out with the uniformity of a common banner anymore. Silly really I suppose. Alas, they changed the title of that comic about a hundred times, so you had to give up in the end.

More recently I really liked this, for example, and even as an adult I was annoyed when they dropped the split Peter/Spidey head:

They looked so cool when you lined them all up overlapping.
