They are good logos aren't they. And 'Action' lasted 583 issues so that says something. Off topic a bit, but do tell us more about those books please @Moondog - I don't know much about them and they look fantastic.

These "ashcan" comics were created to trademark the logos for these titles.  Publishers would send in a "fake" comic with the logo/title they wanted to protect to the patent and trademark office.  After the logo/title was registered they would own it.  Publishers often kept extra ashcans in their files.  Of the images I posted there are 3 Action Comics known to exist.  5 Superman.  3 Superwoman.  1 Superboy and 1 Supergirl (yes, even DC does not have them in their vault - only me).

2 years I waited for that answer Moondog! Only kidding - very cool books to own. How did you come to have them? (See you in 2021 for the answer )

I was lucky to buy them from Sol Harrison, after he retired as president of DC.

That's awesome though! Not a cover you see around often. 6 figures? :takeit:

Mine isn't for sale, but I would guestimate $125-$175K.  Fawcett Flash sold for $85K last year.  Superman sold in the past 2 years for $83,000 and the Wonder Woman sold for $58K last year.

I'm broke compared to the price amount, my comment was more to the awesomeness of the book ^^ and the story behind it :)

The cover on #23 says "BECAUSE YOU ASKED FOR IT!".

Seriously........who the f*** asked for this?

Dear DC comics......could you guys please get rid of the cool Swamp Thing logo on your comics and instead use some generic font you pulled off a can of tuna?  Thanks bunches!

The more I think about it, shouldn't the person who decided on this logo change have been sacked?

Why are they always worse than the original? hm

Someone find me a title logo that gets better!

That has to be about the worse logo change I've seen so far.  Really bad change…Bring back the original logo!!! :sumo:

Yes. I'm rarely a fan of detailed to bland.

I do like all three Hulk's though in a way. Bland, to detailed, then back to bland again:

Apologies if already said, but ASM is iconic as they come. So right they kept it for 394 issues and 31 years.
I mean, there has been worse than the new one but just why bother ???

The original Spidey logo is indeed iconic, and I never liked the first replacement, but I always had a fondness for the '67 cartoon logo and would loved to have seen that as the main title:

The Marvel Tales Spider-Man logo got close to it though, albeit less higgledy-piggledy:
