What's your favorite GA year?

My golden age year was nine when I discovered The Fantastic Four by Kirby.

Do you remember what issue it was?  Where did you buy it?

The first Kirby issue I bought was #57 with that great Dr. Doom cover. Got it at a HCCA mini-con in 1972. I think I paid $1 for it, and certainly got more than a dollar value out of reading it.

On sale in November 1939 sorted by publication date.

First Swastica (anti axis propaganda cover?)  1st appearance of interventionism in comic book media?

1st appearance of The Flash and the first "patriotic" themed super hero The Shield.

I think I've heard of Planet and Fight Comics...  they had #1s this month too.

I think these comic books things might be here to stay....

(It’s never a great idea — no, actually it’s a really reeealy bad idea — to follow a Bedrock phantasmagory of absolutely awe-inspiring rare high grade comic books, but I’ll post anyhow!)

Ahem,

In 1939 the Eisner/Iger shop was firing on all cylinders. Fiction House and Fox were major beneficiaries, with Lou Fine in the middle of it all. Here’s a couple offerings that I didn’t see posted yet in this thread.
