A friend at work has a large lot of the Classics Illustrated comic books, I've only seen a few of them but they look to be first printings I think.  They are looking to sell them and just trying to figure out if they are worth getting graded.  I don't have any experience with these comics so no idea.   The ones I have at my desk have some light creases and light wear and light yellowing of pages.    Would like to get the most money for them but just not sure if CGC graded is worth the investment.

Those are the 1970's printing so they would cost more to grade than what they would fetch!

If you are looking to sell in bulk, send me a PM.

I'm preferably looking for 15c covers (but will take 25c covers) of the following issues:

3, 8, 14, 17, 20, 21, 33, 34, 40, 41, 43, 53, 58, 65, 66, 73, 74, 78, 81, 84, 86, 90, 94, 95, 108, 114,

116, 117, 126, 129, 131, 137, 145, 149, 152, 159-169

Looking for copies in raw 6.0 condition or better. Don't care for HRN number.

I bought an entire collection from a board member for $500. The numbers above I'm hoping to upgrade.

Let me get a list of all the ones they have and I will get with you.  Not sure on the condition of all of them but I am assuming they are all in relatively good shape.

they reprinted the books all of the time - look at the back cover - that is where they list all available books. If you have issue 50 - and the list goes up to 75, then you have a reprint -

would be called issue 50 HRN 75

Even if they are first prints (somehow I doubt it), it's not worth getting them slabbed. There's real not much of a market for this title anymore and the examples you show look to be about 8.0 range. You see them at flea markets all the time and unless they are heavily discounted they sit forever.

I would buy the whole collection if they are indeed in nice shape and if the price is right. Don't mind doubles. The collection I bought had several doubles, even triples.

The vast majority of the collection has 15c covers but there are a handful of 25c covers in there also.

I bought the collection for my daughters to read and enjoy.

Hey thanks for the explanation. Quite honestly I don't care for HRN number, just looking to have a complete collection in relatively nice shape. Again, no intent to slab. For reading and enjoyment only.

I have the majority of them but there are a handful of issues that I'm missing to have a complete set. Would purchase all the books if the price is right.

Send me a PM if you're interested to see if we can work something out.

Many thanks.
