My eyes aren't the best but whats happening at the bottom left corner on the front cover? tearing? 

I see what looks like a  small crease on the front top left corner.

Are those light color-breaking creases at the bottom right corner of the front cover?  If not, 8.5.  If so, I'd need to see them better with a scan that wasn't so dark.

You are correct. There is a small color breaking crease on the top left corner and a bindery tear on the bottom left corner.

No creases at all on the bottom right corner!

My "gut" said 9.0, but the comments between the book and this comment have left me, maybe 8.0
