Jim Lee's Psylocke.  (And his Jean Grey.  And his Rogue.  And Storm.  Really just anything Jim Lee.)

Seconded...this was (unfortunately, story-wise) the era of X-Men I grew up with. Also Shadowcat, but that was probably influenced by the whole "nice Jewish girl" thing...and that I think her power is one of the better ones.

It was Kitty Pryde for me, as well. She was cute and nice and smart, seemed like a normal girl next door type, as opposed to the other sex bomb superheroines.

PS: Edit to add I'm primarily talking about Paul Smith X-Men and Alan Davis Excalibur when it comes to my crush era.

For me it was Mary Jane. That sleeveless black top still sends shivers down my spine and looks just as hot today as it did 51 years ago.

Ok, I know I'm quoting myself, but I did not know there was a statue of this famous scene until now.

Luba, then Penny Century

Love 'em both, but I've always been a Frogmouth guy myself.

Vivian Solis, then Penny Century.

Already in my mid-twenties by the time I was reading Love and Rockets, so not something from those early, formative years.

However and whenever we all got into L&R, suffice to say Los Bros know how to write fully developed female characters...and they draw some gorgeous dames too.

Exactly. I feel something now and I'm 51.  Where is that from? Is that 161? Damn that burnt into my brain

That's not Pablo Marcos' inks, so that's not from Avengers #161 by Perez & Marcos.  There's some #161 goodness at fnord's site --- Do ya see anything there that rings a bell (so to speak)?: http://www.supermegamonkey.net/chronocomic/entries/avengers_161162.shtml .

Inks for that image look like Dave Hunt's.  So, that panel would be from Marvel Team-Up #59 (flips thru long box to confirm & posts a snap from the book).  That panel is not depicted at fnord's entry for #59-62, but it's a nice summary of the story line: http://www.supermegamonkey.net/chronocomic/entries/marvel_teamup_5962.shtml.

Since others moved beyond comics...the girl on the Donkey Kong console did it for me. The redhead, not the blond on the side. I would challenge a giant killer monkey to win her heart and carry her off-screen any day!

Thanks for the research! Much appreciated. It was 161. New costume and when she's nude getting her brain transferred by ultron to sexy robot. I like that.

Nice work!

I just nabbed an image from teh webz to reflect the same-era Jan no-man was looking for, but you found the friggin comic it came from by spotting inkers - fantastic.  And then found the 161 he was talking about.

Funny nobody mentioned Gwen, I've had a thing for blonds ever since Gwen.  Romita Gwen,  Kane Gwen, no matter.

You're welcome, NoMan!

I've always been partial to the Perez-designed white & blue costume.  Again leveraging from fnord's valuable work (http://www.supermegamonkey.net/chronocomic/entries/avengers_194.shtml):

The white & blue I'm referring to is Janet's suit, NOT Jarvis!
