Picked this little fixer upper.
Very happy with the way it came out, and the piece in general!

Jughead with Archie Digest 4, 1974
I believe it to be Dan DeCarlo (he wasn't signing the Digest covers yet in this period), or potentially Stan Goldberg, but looks like Dan to my eyes.

Jan 1962, Archie's Pal Jughead #80 Cover, Samm Schwartz pencils/inks, classic "Martian" cover!,

This classic cover is from the late 1960 to early 1962 period where all Archie titles had Horror or Sci-Fi covers; (the Jughead covers included issues #77, 78, 80-82, 85, 86, and 88);

I am surprised the art is hard to find? Seems like there was a lot of 80s and 90s and 2000s stuff up and even 60s and 70s. I bought a mish mosh from the 60s through the 2000s since they seemed pretty reasonable. I bought a bunch of stuff directly via ebay from Dan Parent cheaply who was very nice and picked up a few complete stories from the 1960s because they were funny and quite reasonably priced for vintage art, in my view. Too lazy to post.  Can I retire off them now?

B & V #235. This is a favorite of mine. Look at the desperation and drama! Also inked by Al Milgrom.

B & V #271 variant cover. Jeff's spin on  Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch. The finished cover was just the colored pencils, no inks.

I bought a stack of Archie art from Dan Parent about 20 years ago at SDCC. I think it was something like three pages for $25 or something like that, and even then, I knew to pick out the splashes and 1/2 splashes (no covers available.) Sold them a while back, need to get a few more back in the collection. Doubt I'll get them that cheap again, though!

Is this a stealth FS post? Probably more appropriate in Marketplace: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/45-original-comic-art-marketplace/

Move it wherever you want. It doesn't matter if I posted that I was giving it away, you'd still have something to say about it, wouldn't you? I mean, you dog every single post I make everywhere I turn. I sure wish you'd come clean with who you really are and stop harassing me on these boards.

Not true, just the posts worth "dogging" (lol). You've got plenty of posts I haven't "dogged" (lol).

Un-dogged, going back to (just) January 1:

Just picked up one of my personal grail bits of Archie OA. It's a modern, so probably doesn't mean that much to anyone else, but I'm stoked. It hasn't arrived yet, but once it gets here, I'll post pictures!

:banana:

Oh, and if anyone happens to know who bought the cover for Jughead's Double Digest #191 off of ebay last year, let me know! Looking for it!
