I disagree. They got the concept right for Morbius. They changed it some, but the concept is correct.

The trailer did its job. It has me interested enough to watch it.

Same here. I'm sold. I hope it's a solid character piece. I'm tired of the constant CG special effects and action.

It's different enough that I see it doing well.  People want original concepts and this is different and cool enough to make people go to the theaters.

I thought it would kind of suck based on the source material but looks I bet wrong on this one.

Aside from that scene at the end I like the trailer, it looks like they're playing this straight as opposed to the usual chuckle fest.

I'm kind of looking forward to it 2c

Tom Holland’s interpretation of Spider-Man has continued to set the Spiderverse back on track, right along with Sony’s award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse. Now, though, as Spider-Man is continuing to swing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, another new player named Morbius is entering to shake things up.

Photos from the set of Morbius show a bus ad asking “Where is Spider-Man”. Does this mean that the final events from Spider-Man: Far From Home have been established as part of Sony’s MCU-adjacent univers, or should we take this to mean Morbius will take place in between Avengers: Endgame and Far From Home given that Peter was snapped out of existence? These are some of the questions raised, but one answer seems to be definite: Sony and the MCU are coming together onscreen.

Perhaps this is also a tip of the hat to Sam Raimi’s Spidey trilogy, starring Tobey Maguire. Kevin Feige, the Marvel head honcho, talked about the new opportunities opening up back in September as Sony and the MCU continue to play nice:

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Feige. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”
