I think you nailed the terminology precisely with the term "notable."  Should we really care what someone with maybe a little too much power deems as classic?? We have long known what covers are classic - stuff like Detective 31, Superman 14 and More Fun 54.  "Hot" seems to be a term too often conflated with "classic" these days. Me? I like a billion covers, but there are classics and then there are classics.

Being a horror collector, I've never been real fond on them. There are exceptions. Not many that I would really call "classic" but many notable ones.

Now, the humor stuff is a different story. Some of my favorite humor books are ACG. These qualify as classic to semi classic I think.

I really like this one
