Avengers #4 white space colored in 0

Hi all. 

 

I just sent this Avengers 4 in to CGC, and as you can see, some kid went to town with the ball point pen. Does this count as restoration? I’m unsure because the pen doesn’t touch up a spot that lost ink, but rather fill in previously uncolored areas.

They do take 'intent' into consideration when assigning color touch. That should not be a problem on such a low grade book. This book is going to grade out very low. Not sure it was worth sending in to CGC .

I wanna CGC it mostly for display and preservation. I paid $150 for it, and I got it pressed and cleaned. The pic I posted is before pressing and cleaning, but my guy wasn’t able to remove the pen. If it comes back 1.0 I’m happy.

Well if your guy tried to remove the pen, started to erase it but stopped, that may be considered restoration. Also, when you say cleaned, if he used anything other than a dry eraser, it will be considered restoration. It's such a low grade copy that it may not matter. I think a 1.0 is attainable, maybe even a tad better, good luck.
