Got a few myself that I have been wanting for a while now. Only wish my ASM 300 was 9.8 ?

Also thought I’d share my top 3 favorite blank comics that I got slabbed this year... Super stoked to meet McFarlane to sign the Wolverine copy!

Not a comic or original art but this King Kong poster from the 1950s is my favorite pickup of the year. Just back from the framer last week. It’s huge, as King Kong should be, 50x41.

My top 3 heavy-hitters for 2017... unless I manage to secure a Jim Lee X-Men OA before year’s end:

 

If I had to choose my fave from the three, I definitely spend the most time looking at the Matt Baker OA... and it’s my avatar, to boot.    Thankful that I got the Cap 7 for under guide (despite the pedigree!), and the mid-grade SW 1 35 cent’er was via a fellow boardie.  Honorable mention goes to an ultra-rare Venom 1 Error Newsstand edition. Upgraded my ASM 300 (to 9.4), WWBN 32 (to 8.0) and NYX 3 (to 9.8) plus acquired a raw DD 1, all via trade.

Item 1 - ASM 39 CGC 4.0 SS - Signed by Stan Lee and John Romita.  While not the highest grade out there, I always wanted a classic Spider-man book signed by both of these giants. I do not have any comic books on display in my house except this book which resides in the cabinet.  I have the 9.0 for my ASM set but THIS is the book I want on display.  Purchased this April.

Item 2 - Raiders of the Lost Ark 1 Page 19 - This was the most I ever spent on a page of art and I may have even gone higher.  I don't care about the artist when I buy art which is why I usually don't spend a lot.  I go after characters and scenes.  This however, probably one of the proudest pieces in my collection.  I have things that are worth more... I have things that are worth less that are on display but this piece makes me smile.  I loved these movies and to have the opportunity to own the 'running from the boulder' page was one I could not pass up.  I was getting ready to make a big purchase a few months later and if it was not for two boardies alerting me to this page's availability, I do not think I would have gotten it let alone known about it.  This turned out to be the first page of art that I felt was time to get framed.  It hangs in front of my desk.  Purchased this February.

Item 3 - Home - I needed a place to hold my comics and nonsense.  When my grandmother passed away last year, she told my mom and my aunt to offer her house to me so I could live on Long Island.   After some negotiations with my Aunt I finally have a place on Long Island to keep my stuff.  Since April I have been selling more than I have been buying but less is more and I do have a place to keep my stuff.  Purchased this April.

Strange Adventures was one of my favorite titles of my youth.  Loved the  sci-fi aspect and the Atomic Knights.  If I ever branch out from GA, that would be a possible destination for me.  Well done, West.

Gil Kane - Amazing Spider-Man #98 Cover (my second favorite issue of Spidey ever after #121 and one of my all-time favorite covers)

Bernie Wrightson - Frankenstein Plate (published in the Marvel Illustrated Novel "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" from 1983 - just sickeningly awesome by Bernie)

Richard Giordano - Marvel Feature v. 2 (feat. Red Sonja) #1, page 1 splash (this is one of the first few comics I ever read - finder's fee paid for information that leads to the acquisition of the original cover artwork)
