The #29 is from '39, and is one of the top pre-Robin 'tecs of all...

The #34 is the last non-Batman cover for Detective comics, also from 1939.

And of course the #37 is the last Detective comics book before the arrival of Robin in 'tec 38.

Gotham Kid has an amazing tec collection...

Some of you may recall that I sold my awesome collection in July and decided I wanted to start from square one. I started by purchasing a $600 collection and from buying and selling, I am proud to add these (and others of course) to my new collection. 

These are not in as high of grade as the previous one I had, but I love the cover to Iron Man #1. So much so that I bought two. 

Then I’ve always wanted a Crime Suspenstories. I wish I could afford a classic beheading cover but for my first issue, I’m happy with this one. 

I never owned a Batman 222 as this book has always eluded me. I like my books in the VF range but I ran across this one at a decent price.

I decided to add another book even though I know it’s against the rules. Can’t help it but I’m an attention hog. I picked up my first Planet Comics for the new collection. I had 3-4 in my previous collection and loved those books. Not one of my favorite covers but I like the busy action and the higher condition of this one.

I didn't make any major purchases this year. I filled a few open spots in my X-men run. Nothing earth shattering, but stuff that I love. 

My wife and kids really have a way of handicapping my hobby expenditures.

You guys are truly the best of the best collectors in the world. As for me I don't have any big keys acquired this year. I did however complete a high grade  run of Vampirella, and filled in my Creepy run from 1-60 , and adding a few books to my Eerie run. Competing with you guys is like an ant competing with an elephant , kudos to you all.

I'll have to go with the following:

I had already acquired 182 in 9.8 (shout out to Greg Reece), and I didn't have five figures laying around to chase a 181 in 9.8.  Ergo 180 in 9.8!  Picked up on ComicLink.

I dreamed up this Wolverine 8 homage one day many, many months ago, and the up and coming Mabel Garza (check out her art page on FB) finally made it happen!

And since I don't currently have a photo of my Batman 227 since its at CGC, I'll do a #4/Honorable Mention as well.  Because Wonder Woman.
