Cool, Hardy Boys books!  But you really need to get some vintage Superman toys...

Sell me some of yours. The only vintage Superman things I have is are Pep pins and a Syroco statue.

Thanks for posting these Nerv. Especially this article. It is weird to me to see Bruce Hamilton in a costume as a villain. Not sure how you all feel about him. He was certainly one of the early pillars of the hobby. As part owner of Camelot he was essentially one of my bosses. His example could have led me to believe that it is okay to take advantage of your business partners when they are going through a hard time. That is something the Joker would do.

I like to tell people who want to open a comic store that they really need to work in retail before they risk their own money. I worked for a lot of people who taught me what not to do when running a business. Bruce Hamilton was at the top of that list.

Thanks for sharing the photo of John Barrett holding EC Tales of Terror Annual #2.   John, Beerbohm, and Bud Plant opened Comics & Comix on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley in August 72.  I started as a freshman at Berkeley in April 1973 and spent most of my disposable income at their store.  Sadly, John passed away in 2001.

Before moving to Texas, John used to own a comic book store on Main Street in Alhambra, CA.  When I visited my aunt, I would park my car by her apartment building and walk over.

Just like the comics themselves their history is made up of heroes and villains in the real world too.

I used to hang out with Dave Gibson and picked up a lot of ECs from him. He was a member of the American Comic Book possie if I remember right.

I never knew Bruce Hamiliton personaly. I bumped into him at a few cons though. He seemed alright but I was always a "little guy". I guess I never had anything he wanted except that Flash #1 he tried to talk me out of...

John Barrett was a great friend of mine. He would have 2 or 3 copy's of Fantasy 15 waiting for me to pick up at Comics & Comix on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley every month great guy.
