Since Mr. Berk has left the hobby, what's the hierarchy....

At this moment, as far as preeminent collectors? Dave Anderson, J. Verzyl, S. Fishler....? Who else would likely be part of  the top ten? I know some people relatively new to the hobby have poured vast sums of money into collections in the last decade. I have no idea who the top high grade silver age collectors are now, and where they'd rank relative to the top tier of golden age specialists. I'd think with (for example) the best copies of Amazing Fantasy 15 now exceeding $1 million, the top silver age specialists have some of the world's most valuable collections. Some people collect all eras, including (very) little old me. Anyone have a guess at the world's most valuable collections today?

There's a pretty epic thread from a gent named Bangzoom where he showcased a fantastic HG collection of GA gems he acquired I think in the 70's.  Unfortunately many of those links to pics are broken now due to photobuckets third party hosting policy whereby they make you pay as opposed to free.  A shame really.  There are still some good photo's available in that thread though.  From what he showed I'd take that collection over any SA collection put together.  He was all about quality vs quantity.

The BangZoom thread is the most epic thing I’ve seen here. I don’t know where his collection would “rank” but was a sight to behold for sure.

For some reason, as I went through that thread I was saving the images to my laptop. I think I saved all of them through the first 142 pages. sample....

Oh that is fantastic! I was afraid those were lost to photo bucket forever.

I wish it was that fantastic-- apparently the files I thought I was saving are not all there-- some sort of file error- perhaps from photo bucket. Sort of sucks too since the files are even labelled with which book they are. Only noticed this now-- and perhaps it was nothing I could do to fix at the time. The first 70 pages are sort of lost save a handful. The 70-141 look to be bvetter-- perhaps bangzoom changed  the file format later on in his posting. Not sure. I would share whatever I have if someone asks about a specific book-- not sure if he titled each one in his posts though.

For Golden Age books, Mr. Bedrock's up there.

#287 - a long way from top ten.

My favorite picture ever posted on the boards. It was my desktop background for a couple years.

You should start a thread called Best of Bangzoom and post all the pics you have.

any chance that photobucket still has the pictures? perhaps we could pay for his account to get them back up. Honestly- almost all of the covers I thought I saved are unreadable files. Such a wasted effort. wish I thought that through back then.

I would suspect they do.  Not sure if he is active or not or if anyone knows him personally can reach out to suggest but I'd be down to chip in for this if he's agreeable to it.
