I've been collecting Superman and Batman for quite a while, but I've been getting away from SA and BA books, so I'm going to be listing that part of my collection during the next few weeks.

I'm going to start with the BA books, then the SA books, then add quite a few 10 cent books, early SA/ Atom Age/GA...whatever you want to call them;)

 

I plan on listing books for about 2 hours at a time. I'll note the days in advance and the time. If I won't be able to be there at that time, I'll hopefully let you know in advance. There are at least 450 books that I'm going to be listing, so this will take a few weeks. Feel free to accumulate the books and pay at the end, unless you prefer not to wait.

 

 

There will be one thread for the BA, 1 for the SA and one for the early SA/Atom/GA books, but you can combine the books so that you can take advantage of the shipping discounts.

 

Since these are all raw books, I'm pricing by looking at completed prices on eBay, then I deduct what fees would cost me and a little more.

I accept Paypal, checks or Money orders. 

First  here or in a pm wins, by time stamp. If I can't determine the time stamp, the board take it wins.

I will send invoices at the end, once you get the invoice, payment is due within 3 days unless we have discussed other arrangements.

 

If you need time payments, it's not a problem, but please PM me before taking anything.

Regarding this first group, the 15 cent and up books.

 

Prices are going to be low on these books (at least I think they are low) All the books are raw, A few notes. None to the best of my knowledge,have been pressed or cleaned.

I count the pages on every book. I look at the centerfolds to make sure they are attached, if they aren't, I note it. I look for missing coupons, and I grade the way I'd like someone else to grade for something I'm buying, but anyone can miss something or make a mistake.

 

So...If I left anything out, just ask.

 

I take returns on anything. If you aren't happy for any reason, plmk within 3 days of receipt. If I ask you to return the book, then I expect the return within 7 days, packed the same way I sent it. If you just changed your mind, shipping is on you. If I made a mistake, return shipping is on me.

 

Shipping, I will charge exact shipping, but I will discount if you buy a certain amount.

Spend $100 and get $5.00 off shipping, $200 and get $10 off shipping, if you spend $300 or more, I'll ship for free (in the US, in Canada  I'll split shipping with you if you spend more than $300). If you live anywhere else, just pm me for shipping estimates before you buy anything.

 

For the USA, I use regional boxes whenever it lowers the shipping price. I don't charge for handling. All books are bagged and boarded, most are going to be in new bags and boards. Most are in Mylite 2's and hardbacks.

 

I can ship 2 regular (1 Giant) books in a cardboard mailer for about $3.00

3-5 books in a flat rate envelope with very strong boards (one will have a wood veneer) for $6.00

 

12 books in a regional box A for about $8 east coast, $11 West coast. (if it's less I charge the exact amount.) A regional box B is slightly higher.

I do not ship comics media mail, because the Post Office states they can not be shipped media (it's in their regulations) and I don't want to be responsible if there is a problem.

Tracking is included and so is insurance (I pay for private insurance.). If you buy more than $200 worth of books, signature required is a must, but I pay for that.

I can ship first class to Canada, but its not cheap. Max is 4lbs.

 

I'm going to add a lot of freebies on the thread. If the requirement is # of books, that can't be combined with one that has a money spent requirement. This way, hopefully a few different people will get the freebies;)

 

I also add some kind of free gift to each order.

Action Comics #398, Neal Adams cover, Morgan Edge, Supergirl.

A few bends upper left and that upper right tiny corner is missing. Grade is VG+ but it's a really nice one.. (4.5) Bin is $6.00

 

Action Comics #400, Anniversary issue, Neal Adams!

Great color and gloss, some very light creasing on the left, grade is Fine+ (6.5) $17.00

Action #415, Monster story where the monster resembles Frankenstein, Metomorpho back up.slight bend near the “A” in Action, very small “invisible” stain on the lower back, otherwise, it's a really nice looking copy. Grade is Fn/VF 7.0 maybe a little better. Bin $8.00

 

Action #429, Human Target backup story ( I loved the TV show, even though it had little resemblance to the comic;) . Light creasing at the bottom, corner crease upper right and a little creasing upper left. A very small tear at the bottom. Grade is Fine- (5.5) Bin is $3.00

 

Action #430, The Atom. The are some slight indentations on the front, in a pattern. The back has some lines from being bundled., dirt/stain at the top of the back Grade is VG/Fine (5.0) bin is $3.00

Nice copy with a few small flaws. There is a tiny chip lower right front, and a tiny one of the back. Grade is Fine/VF. Bin is $9.00

Superman #219, 1969 Tape pull, spine roll, creasing and some moisture staining on the bottom of the back cover. Corner crease lower right. Grade is Good+ (2.5) $3.00

 

Superman #225, Great color and gloss. I guess this is bondage?

Some light overall creasing, plus bend lower right. Light dirt on back. Grade is VG+ (4.5) $3.00

 

Superman #228, Curt Swan Great color and gloss, a little distributor's ink on the top edge, some spots on the gloss, 2” x 1/4” ripple on the open right edge of the front cover. It's at least a VG+ (4.5) $6

#229, Supergirl appearance.

Nice color and gloss, light creasing, stain on the back GD/VG  (3.0) $3 (Lowered for the stain on the back)

#233 Classic Cover. Neal Adams

I wish this was in better shape, but it's not. Creasing, two tears on the back, one about 2”, 1” spine split bottom, 1" at the top (cover only) some writing on the front. Paper is good and it's readable. Grade is Good (2.0) Bin is $12

Superman #246, 1st Star Labs! (if you are a Flash TV show Fan, you'll want this one;) There is a small production crease on the back and some minor creasing on the back edge (on the overhang) some dirt. Grade is Fine+ (6.5) Bin is $15

Great color and gloss, it's a nice copy with great color and gloss, a tiny bit of foxing at the top (front and back). There are 2 very faint verticle lines that might be production related, but I'm going to lower the grade to 7.0 (Fn/VF) Bin is $8

books purchased

Most of the Actions and Supermans in this first part of the sale are from 2 OO collections I purchased years ago.The color (even if I don't mention it) is brilliant on most of the books. Gloss with very few exceptions is great, pages for most of the books are white to OW. I think there was a little tanning on 3 or 4 of them, most of those will be freebies, but if I left one in the sale, you can clearly see it on the back cover, inside pages were not tan.
 

Centerfolds are all tight. I didn't take inside pictures but if you need one, just ask.

When I mention light creasing, it's not color breaking. There are a few books with corner creases, I tried to note those.

 

The other books are from various places, I've had them for a while, too.

 

Let's start off with a free book:)  (I only took front pictures of the free books, but they are all complete with back covers, just a little lower grade than the others).

 

Action 377, Neal Adams cover, Complete but there is a 1” x 3” strip off the last page. Free to  Norrin's Lawyer!

Action #388, Just about everyone you can think of is in the story, including Wonder Woman and Bizarro...but they are kind of mixed up;)
