Sweethearts #120 (Charlton, 11/71) VF+ to VF/NM $75

The start of Charlton romance bronze might almost be said to originate with this book.  With a beautiful unattributed cover by a Charlton mainstay, Art Cappello, it captures the last gasp of the Peter Max, tie dye age in a simple elegant fashion.  A must have book for the true romance aficionado, whose interest spans the ages, GA to BA.

Sweetheart Diary #41 (Charlton, 3/58) VG diagonal crease bottom right fr, tide mark top bc, tear on edge last page book  $25  NOW $15

The Charlton 68 pagers for .15 cents was an experiment that went nowhere fast.  It demonstrated the forward thinking rapid response mindset of the great Charlton owner and mastermind, John Santangelo, Sr., who met a down on his luck attorney named Ed Levy in jail and formed a publishing partnership.  The rest was...shall we say, history?  The .15 centers were in and out in a few months - but very collectible as a result.  A very nicely done cover, pencils by Charles Nicholas and inked by Colletta.  It has a wash type of feel to it.  Hard to find in decent shape.

Young Love #39 (DC, 9-10/63) VF+ some light ncb on the fc  $75  SOLD

Pink DC romance cover, and classic Romita to boot.  In two years he'll be bolting to the other side of the street and begin his date with destiny, drawing...Gwen Stacy, of course!  His time at DC was preparing him for the greatness to come.  And don't kid yourselves, his Spidey was all well and good, but without horny young teens loving Gwen and MJ, the book doesn't scale the heights like it did.  And then no Spidey movies, etc etc.  It all traces back to Romita DC romance!  Who knew?  :preach:

Mike, this Gwen prototype is right up your alley :baiting:

Secret Hearts #7 (DC, 11/51-1/52) VG-  top spine wear, LT-OW, inside covers toned, light name stamp, bottom bc pieces out  $75

Another early DC, with a great blue matte cover.  This one is considered a classic, and always priced very strongly in Overstreet.
