I believe a good pressing would if anything improve the front cover eye appeal regardless of grade bump.  Also it

maybe the camera but looks like possible spine roll as well.

It could also cause damage.  I have a hard time thinking whoever got it slabbed didn't have CCS/CGC evaluate it first and make a call to do this if it would have benefited and not caused harm.

I have several comics that have tape along the entire spine even though there are no spine splits or other apparent reason for tape. My understanding is that some readers/collectors way back in the day would tape the spine as a preventative measure to make sure it didn't split, or detach, when they read it multiple times.

Just because one crazy sale at $85K with worse pages (not sure the Stan Lee signature on slab is worth much?), dont think that this issue is suddenly worth more than that.  A Blue Label 2.5 sold for $80K this past year and a nicer looking 2.0 that was unrestored and qualified just for an original married cover sold for $25K.  3.5 to 4.5 blue label copies also sold for $129K and $143K respectively this past year and those should be worth multiples of what a 1.5 is worth!  That being said this is an amazing grail to own and a very nice looking 1.5, but looking at the whole grade vs price spectrum, it does not indicate that you will get as much or more than they got on that one highly abnomal 1.5 sale even if you re grade and it comes back 1.8 or 2.0.
