ComicLink 2018 Show 'em if you got 'em

Alright, folks. Let's try again. Last year's thread made it almost the entire year, but without explanation from the mods, we are not sure why it was removed.

I think it is fair to say that simply cropping the label off of Voldemort books and posting them here is the problem. It's an end around the courtesy rule of the CGC boards.

Please post CGC or raw winnings only.

Happy bidding!

Historically, this one has always been just ComicLink. More boardies seem to frequent that one.

Is there a Comicconnect link?  I can’t seem to find it.  And While we’re on the subject is there another comiclink thread somewhere?  Sorry, my ignorance is showing

I got this one for $57 - I love the monster covers like this!!

I got another Voldy slab for a good deal too - I might post that tomorrow after I crop it.

I took a quick glance at a couple books but nothing popped out at me.  How have prices been vs GPA?

I don't know - the stuff I buy isn't really conducive to GPA.  I put anchor bids in on about 60-70 items, but when the prices get to high (in my mind), I bail out.

The Angel was $18 under GPA set in 2010, which is the only sale recorded in any grade.

The other book I got was AAMOW 106 9.2 Voldy.  The highest recorded grade was a 9.0 cgc that sold for $49 in 2003.  I'm paying $71 which might be "overpaying".  This book actually looks nice enough so it might be a 9.2 - you never know until you crack them out.  I'm happy with the price, even if it turns out to be a 9.0, as these war books are pretty tough in high grade.

This comiclink auction seems different than the norm to me, with lots of material that is not at the highest CGC grades.

Not sure myself but one small example is I needed DD $6 in 9.0  Put my bid at 320 and once it crossed I snagged it on ebay for $360.  It sold at just over $400 I believe.  Where ever that may be for GPA.  But after buyer fee and shipping I will need some deals to purchase.

Last sale back in August was for $360 which is a bit of an increase but they don't come up often in that grade based on GPA.  Nice snag considering the ComicLink copy went 10% higher.

The monthly "Focused" auctions have a mix of books, lots of mid-tier mixed in with some nice stuff in between. The "Featured" auctions happen quarterly (I think) and that's when they bring out the primo books. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, and that's why I prefer "Focused".

Would you happen to know if GPA lists sales from comiclink? I know they list comicconnect sales but it takes a while for them to show up.
