Funny. I found one of these today. I would have just laughed and passed it, however it was a DC Universe Logo Variant that was previously undiscovered. I had to pick it up.

I thought all of Ditko's late 70s/early 80s stuff was awful, especially his Captain Universe stuff. I had no idea at the time he had been the original Spider-Man artist and it shocked me later to see that work and how it compared to this later stuff, which always seemed rushed and stinky.

I have to say, given the pace at which a lot of these guys have to work, I've accepted some questionable work as part of the "charm" of comic books.... some of these however.... Wow....

These two would be my picks.  Not sure what they intended for Deadpool but it didn't work.   And I know what they intended for the X-Men but it didn't work.

That Deadpool cover was so bad when it came out in 2015, I had to Google what was going on.  The actual answer isn't much better than "some ten-year-old slipped his drawing into Marvel's production art".

The problem with both these hip-hop covers is not remotely related to the album covers they are tributes to. That X-Men cover would be fine using the poses from the Grandmaster Flash album; it is awful because the faces of the X-Men are drawn like withered crones. Likewise, that Deadpool cover does an admirable job recreating the hands from Run the Jewels 2. The problem is... um, literally everything else, but especially Deadpool's head, which looks like someone took one of those "How to Draw Characters" books and stopped at "Step 1: Draw an oval."
