I want to be excited for this movie, but I keep getting that “Episode IX: The Jedi Return Of” vibe.  😞

Same. I loathed TLJ something fierce, but this just seems like a rehash of ROTJ.

Seems lame to bring the Emperor back after all this time but he is better the KR Or GH!

Rian Johnson didn't write or direct this movie. JJ Abrams did. If anything, you should get a Force Awakens sequel-vibe. And if you can't see that, then you alone must pay the price for your lack of vision.

OK...great.  So because VII was heavily derivative of IV, its some crime against cinema to fear that IX will be heavily derivative of VI?  Gotcha.  Cool story. (thumbsu

In my lack of vision I misread your post as Episode VIII Last Jedi-vibe. Uh yeah, you're totally right to get a Episode VI Return of the Jedi vibe from this. The Emperor appears to totally be setting up Rey as his heir a la Anakin in Ep. III and Luke in Ep. VI.

i all i know is the Lucas films has a lot of explaining to do with books, comics, and TV within this trilogy. it started with both J.J. Abrams & Lucas Films how they wanted it to start and then Lucas Films drop the ball big time by not setting important threads that needed to be in TLJ(which i like a lot besides the casino part) to move the story forward. i'll watch it on opening night cause i love star wars but i hope it shows us some amazing force powers that we have only seen in TV, Comics, and Books.

I hope it's good but I doubt it!

They should take a page of of Avengers Endgame's book on how to end a saga in a satisfying way!
