How bad will this defect affect grading? 0

I am wanting to send several of my comics in to be graded.  Several of them appear perfect, but have a minor defect on the binding corner.  I attached a pic of one of them.

Could I still qualify for a 9.8 with this defect?

No imho.  Little off for corner blemish and an attached thumb tip drops it down to poor.

I appreciate it.  I am pretty sure I can have the thumb tip removed though, lol.

'If' it's a common book that CGC sees often and they all have this dangling corner as a common bindery problem, it's possible you can still get a 9.8 .  See if you can find another copy online somewhere, already in a 9.8 slab, that shows this same corner defect. However, it will most likely not get a 9.8 . You can send it in as part of a bigger batch for a 9.8 pre screen .
