tales of suspense 39 restoration vs qualified

hello, I'm new to this forum and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were about restoration, I recently acquired a tales of suspense 39 in a cgc .5 grade. The reason for this grade is the book was torn in half vertically then reattached with tape. I asked cgc what options I had and they mentioned mending the pages with rice paper after removing the tape. This method would give the book a qualified grade of 4.0-5.0, would this be worth doing to this type of book or just leave it alone?( the cost runs about $1000 max but could be less)

I know what I would do, I would learn how to mend it myself.  I don't expect too many others to agree with me.  There are professional restorers who do a great job but $1000 would be too steep.

that's true and yeah $1000 is steep, do you think its worth getting the repair done regardless in order to receive a qualified grade?
