Batman 1 but LOTS of interest :x

Seems like every major HA and CC auction lists at least 1 copy. 244 copies to date on the census. Plenty of cbcs copies as well.

That's a nice gift!!  The market was able to absorb those copies, and demand continues to outstrip supply even on the more plentiful Cole covers.

Yes, I had a slabbed 9.2 of that a while back, bought it cheap, was excited to get a 9.2 GA book that old, and didn't sell it for all that much when I needed to sell it

Add Archie 1 and All Star 8 to that list. Seems there's always one of them in every recent auction. Probably still wouldn't be 'common' but the opportunity to acquire one if you have the funds has been there

Green Lama 7, with the Christmas cover, was found in quantity in the last thirty years. High grade copies are plentiful.

Perfect Love 3 is also extremely common in grade, probably a large find...

i'm surprised it was that high back then. You could buy a lot of cool stuff for a couple hundred or less in those days.  It doesn't  seem nearly as available as it did in the early days of ebay, when there were always copies for $10 or less listed.

Overstreet played it up big in the Guide. He did the same with Blood is the Harvest and If the Devil Would Talk. Giveaways, drug related comics, and esoteric material was really hot at the time.

Yeah, I remember when the Catechetical Guild anti-communist stuff was hot. IIRC, it was around the same time that Avon sci-fi was on fire as well. All that stuff has barely kept up with inflation the last 40 years, expect maybe in high grade.  Meanwhile most classic cover PCH was cheap as dirt.

Yeah, the 1950 version of this one was a huge book for a while.  Still gets decent money, but has fallen way off relative to other books.

Seven Seas #2 also seems to be everywhere.

And 1 ...and both in super high grade.  Always annoyed to see these as I search online for 4 and 6...

Every boy should have one. :)
