I forgot to mention my dear ASM #48 CGC 9.8 - which I paid $4300 for in 2013 (it's on GPA, I've got the Curator Copy) - but it's a pedigree book. Still plain vanilla isn't much cheaper - last one sold in 2013 for $3800 according to GPA:

Best,

Rune

A non-pedigree OW-W ASM #48 CGC 9.8 just sold on CLink for $4200:

http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/history.asp?item=1238579&back=%2Fauctions%2Fitem.asp%3Fback%3D%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH%2EASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dspider%2Dman%2B48%26GO%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item%5F1238579%26id%3D1238579%26itemType%3D0

Unavngivet.thumb.jpg.f0c81d9ff6a5d7f8de3cce0e5ae4c393.jpg

- and there was another sale listed on GPA a few weeks ago for 4k (sold in Feb 2018).

So it would be nice to have points increased maybe by 50% or so... :foryou:

Hello,

detective 37 score was not touched. :frown:  Tec 37 - last solo Batman with end to dark, sinister persona. There are a Total of ONLY 60 copies on the census, 45 Universal (10% being poor copies graded 0.5 or 1.0) and 15 Restored.

Here are a few recent sales all in December 2017

  • 3.5 Universal - $17,500 ( worth 3150 points meh )
  • 5.5 Universal - $23,600  ( worth 6300 points meh )
  • 7.5 MP Restored - $9,000 ( worth 2756 points. WTF, worth almost as much as a 3.5 Universal grade )

A 7.5 is coming up to auction and a conservative sale estimate would be $50,000+. It sold in 2015 for $38,240.

I would think an appropriate score adjustment be triple (3X) across all grades/conditions for this particular book.

Thank you for all your work, we registry users much appreciate it.

:bump:

I made an very strong offer ( almost double what he paid just a couple years ago) on a Tec 30 7.0 but guy won't sell. :censored:

The ComicConnect books almost all have tape and that scares me. :fear:

7.0 blue is great.  Tec 30 is now the right time to buy. If you need a little more money to get the book let me know i send it to you.

Don't need Harold, thanks. Just need guy to be willing to sell. Almost double what he paid for 2 years ago I think is a mighty fair offer.

Would look great between the 29 and 31 :whatthe:  This one might be a good trade/cash offer to him or you can upgrade later (shrug)

Phantom lady 17 should be tripled at least...its a 25k book in 9.2 per OPG that consistently sells 2-2.5 times guide value verifiable per GPA.  It should basically be the same point value as ToS 39...with a higher skew for lower grade copies as its a GA book.

Phantom Lady 23 should be at least quadrupled...its a 10k book per OPG that also sells 2-2.5 times guide...and for some reason has the same registry values as PL 20-22...which have 1/3 the OPG value.

Thanks for the fix on some of the PCH I mentioned.  I've looked at a few more books and I'll limit this request to the ones that are worth ten times or more than the current points awarded by CGC:

Out of This World 1, the Avon one-shot:  VG+ sold 9/3/17 for $203, CGC points = 14; 5.0 sold 3/2/17 for $347, CGC points = 17.

Brick Bradford 6:  6.5 sold 3/6/18 for $1,071, CGC points = 71; 8.0 sold 11/28/17 for $2100, CGC points = 200.

Phantom Lady 23:  6.5 sold 9/8/16 for $4,958, CGC points = 320; 4.0 sold 11/6/17 for $2,868, CGC points = 150; 8.0 sold 2/22/18 for $14,340, CGC points = 880.

Cowboy Comics 13 (Centaur):  6.0 sold 6/13/17 for $5,500, CGC points = 299.

Cox Puncher 6: 5.0 sold 1/7/18 for $526, CGC points = 44.

Murderous Gangsters 2:  6.5 sold 10/6/17 for $750, CGC points = 58.

Prison Break 2:  6.0 sold 11/29/17 for $515, CGC points = 53; 5.5 sold 2/24/18 for $454, CGC points = 48.

Baffling Mysteries 7:  VG sold yesterday 3/18/18 for $1105!!!, CGC points = 34.

Witchcraft 2:  5.5 sold 12/18/16 for $1,450, CGC points = 140; 4.0 sold 9/8/16 for $927, points = 81.

You also ought to look at the other books in the series of these, e.g. Baffling Mysteries 5 had a sale 9 mo. ago at 3X the CGC points; Murderous Gangsters 1 had a sale 2 months ago at 7X; Cow Puncher 2 had a sale earlier this month of an 8.5 copy at $1,288 with a point allocation of only 315; other Phantom Ladies within the last months at 3X for PL 13, 14 and 18, 4X for PL 16, 6X for PL 20, 7X for PL 21.

Dear CGC,

I have recently had a big box of 'The Walking Dead' (Image / Skybound) returned to me, and this caused me to look closely at the registry scores for this comic. There are a few (six in particular) that I feel should be reviewed based on the 400 points allocated to the #94 Convention Sketch Edition. This seems about right based on its scarcity and price to buy. Please look at:

  • #115 Variant N (maybe 200 for Universal 9.8?)
  • #127 Diamond Retailer (as rare as #94 Convention Sketch = 400)
  • #144 Convention Sketch (as above = 400?)
  • #150 Retailer Appreciation (maybe 100 for Universal 9.8?)
  • #171 Pink Lorenzo (maybe 100 for Universal 9.8?)
  • Here's Negan preview #nn (LE500 only from Image Blind Box LE1992, always sells for high price $250-300+ in raw condition. 400 points?

Thank you and regards

Stephen

Amazing Spider-man #s 31 and 41 could both do with being reviewed.

#31 features first appearances of Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn and Professor Warren (who later becomes the Jackal) while #41 has the first appearance of the Rhino.

Both issues are more scarce in high grade than the issues either side of them and Registry points values are well behind GPA in 9.4 grade. Additionally a 9.4 copy of ASM #31 achieved $5500 in the current ComicLink Focused Auction and a 9.4 #41 realised $3900 in their February Featured Auction.

I would recommend that points values for these two issues are at least doubled.

Thanks for considering.

Jon

Hello,

I request a point increase for Detective Comics 474 from the current 400 to 800 based on the demand and, consequently, strong sale prices for this issue. Some examples of recent sale prices are:

ComicLink:

CGC 9.8, sold for $425.00; and

CGC 9.6 sold for $220.00.

eBay:

CGC 9.8, sold for $485.00; and

CGC 9.6 sold for $180.00.

As always, thank you for your time and consideration.

Silver Surfer v3 #34

Return of Thanos after 13 year hiatus. Averages around $200 in 9.8

at 40 points now for universal 9.8. Should be higher IMO. Up to you how much I don’t know how to score these things

@TheGirlHasNoName

Thank you ! :foryou:

I ran a check of registry point allocation (Detective 37) against a whole span of grades in both universal and restored, and points are now much better aligned with current market value. I would know ;)

Good job !
