2018 "THIS SCORE NEEDS FIXIN" REQUESTS

Hi Mollie!

I would like your consideration to increase the Registry points for The Walking Dead Issue #2 (Image Comics)     The points are far, far too low.   Here is my reasoning:

#1 in CGC 9.8 is 8,400 points and sells for about $2,400.

#2 in CGC 9.8 is only 400 points and sells for $1,200 to $1,400 about half as much yet the registry is only 5% as much.

Consider the circulation numbers.  I understand the impact of a #1 book but

TWD #1 had 7,266 issues published while  #2 had fewer at 6,067 published.

This is apparent in the Census numbers; #2 is a much more rare book than #1 in 9.8 condition.

#1 has 1,002 graded in 9.8 or 9.9 out of 2,971 which is 33.7%

#2 has 225 graded 9.8 out of 1,363 (no 9.9s) which is 16.5% so less than half as many books are graded 9.8 than #1 and less than 25% as many books available.

I have spoken to "Sensei Ryan" who holds the top position in The Walking Dead Registry sets.

He agrees that the #2 issue should be in the 3,000 to 3,500 point range.

Is this something you can address?  I am sure all the participants would appreciate recognizing the

value and rarity of The Walking Dead #2.

With thanks,

Tom (BladeTX in the Walking Dead #1-48 Registry Set)

Mollie,

How are you? Hope all is well. I'm wondering if you can look into Daredevil #1 (volume 1) for the point amount. I see that a 4.5 is only pulling in 560 points. Compared to the other Marvel heroes that came out the same year with a issue #1, he is well below what they are commanding. Thank you for your time.

I second the point increase for #2 (1st and 2nd print) - Tom knows his research!

Detective Comics #1-#500

Neal Adams - Batman covers

Neal Adams - DC and Marvel covers

Thanks

One fantastic cover!

(Edit) And that $2250 copy is one of three in CGC 9.8.

To note that only 3 DC 422 in CGC 9.8 exist.

I just had DC Comics Presents #79 graded, a nice 9.6, (cert 1994945006, and the very first issue 79 to be graded), but when I entered it into my DC Comics Presents set, it earned only 20 points.  Every other issue in this set, with the exception of a few higher-scoring issues, rates 9.8s at 65 points and 9.6s at 40 points.

Please adjust the score of DC Comics Presents, issue 79, from 20 points to 40 points to conform with the rest of the point values in this set.

Thanks!

Mollie, thanks for expanding the Avon Captain Steve Savage set, but you need to add points to the expanded issues of Captain Steve Savage that you've now listed; they are all at zero.  Specifically, here are the books I've got listed for which the points are zero (and my suggested points would be somewhere around 75% of Overstreet for all but the nn, which should be around 100% due to Wally Wood art):  nn 5.5, #6 (1950 series) 7.0, #7 (1950 series) 7.0#6 (1954 series) 8.0, #9 (1954 series) 7.0, #10 (1954 series) 7.0.

PS. Just saw that ASM #51 Universal CGC 9.6 sold for nearly 4K (and the book didn't even have pure white pages) - and it's only 2000 points, would it be fair to bump it up to 3000 points (a pedigree #51 9.6 has sold for more than 7k)? And it is the first ever Kingpin cover :cloud9:

Hello Registry Folks!

I am currently trying to make sure that all requests are fulfilled by the end of the year. With that said, I am going to freeze all new requests until January 2nd, 2019. If you should have any new requests in the next 3 weeks, just hold on to them until the new thread. I will still be "liking" posts as I complete them, just not taking in anything new. I just want to make sure that I get everything done.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, filled with relaxing times and loved ones (or yourself) gifting you those "key issues" you have been wanting. I know I will be spending as much time as possible robbing trains with Arthur Morgan and trying to find that darn white Arabian in the mountains. :)

All the best for 2019-

<3 Mollie
