unfortunately that signature doe not look like any of the signatures of anybody who worked on that book.  The Signature looks as is it starts with Dr. which might mean somebody with a doctorate signed it but other than that I can not be of anyhelp

I suspect that it was a television personality like Svengoolie or Sammy Terry.  I will see if I can track anything down . . .

So, I am pretty sure the signature says Dr. San Guin ("sanguine") and it looks cartoony. My theory is the sketch is named and the character is Dr. San Guin, and it is not a signature at all.
