In honour of the last great Universal monster and the man who played him in the underwater scenes, Ricou Browning.:foryou: The Creature was a unique character that viewers could empathise with and those underwater scenes were a delight to watch, it was like a ballet and was just as beautiful and the work that went into executing the scene was Ricou's skill as a World class swimmer. He also co-created Flipper and worked on two James Bond movies: Thunderball and Never say never again both starred Sean Connery. (worship)

Of interest have you ever heard of a movie called "The Monkey talks 1927" the make-up for the monkey was done by the legendary Jack Pierce of Universal monster fame. To think that 40 years later John Chambers won an Oscar for his Monkey make-up for Planet of the apes. I consider Pierces work to be superior for its time.(worship)

I've never come across this at all. Looks very interesting, was it an early talkie? I always thought that the ape costumes in 2001: A Space Odyssey should have beaten the POTA

Actually its a Silent movie however it's a very touching story so bring your tissues. The quality is not great on this print but it's worth watching, yes I never skipped to the end I'm a TV and Film historian..

I live near Belfast harbour but that only leads out to the Belfast lough, As for the Beach I was a sand baby the Sea frightened me, also I never learnt how to swim it's the same with cars and roads. One of these days I'm going to have to get therapy for all my phobias.
