I don't think the posted photos are enough to call a slamdunk on trimming. As Mystafo says, most likely the angled top edge is from a production miscut.

In the second photo, I think the white hairline just above the top cover edge is just reflected light hitting a detail of the inner well, and NOT the pages peeking out unevenly (notice how that same white line isn't visible in the first photo).

Barring other evidence, the book looks great to me.

It is OK. No trim that I can see any evidence of going by the shape of that edge front or back. What's important to note is that a trim could have been on the top of the right edge, a narrowing to square the corner. This looks good all the way around.
