Ugh!  Recount - we need a recount.  Tough round and congrats to XHSDME1 or something.

Went:

Thought GE was between a 4.0 and a 4.5 - went 4.5 Bulleseye!

Thought GI was between a 8.5 and 9.0 due to top edge (stupid huge scans) - went 8.5

Thought X-Men was between 6.0 and 6.5 since the back cover water stain was so small - went 6.5

Thought Yogi was between 4.5 and 5.0 since the back cover was so dirty and with the tears - went 4.5

Like the Cleveland Browns - there is always next year!

Thanks to the organizers for all there hard work putting this together!  Had a lot of fun as usual, congrats to Toro this round also.  

The GE book eliminated me this round, wasn’t really sure what a missing staple would do to a grade.  I thought it would have a much larger effect on the grade than it obviously did, and guessed accordingly.  

Heading back home from Mexico today and will post a nice prize book when I get home.

I think we're to grade the outer cover only 

sckao and I have been doing this for a number of years.  The only change we've made to the Tournament was to allow for a NG book to be used.

Over the years, I've probably posted about 20-30 double covers (and some triple/quadruple covers) in the Tournament.  Nothing has changed.  it would be impossible to grade the inner cover.  The inner cover and the pages have nothing to do with the grade of the outer cover.

Grade the outer cover.

Actually, the grading note BUTM shared with us was super cryptic:

I had no idea so I guessed 3.0, thinking the range had to be somewhere between 2.0 and 4.0...

4.5 is surprising.

It's the first time I have ever seen that in graders' notes.

It's tough to lose when you got two grades on the money, but wow "letsgrumble" was flawless...

90 to 54 is an ol'school behind the barn whooping!
