There are no Harvey pence variants, alas, but here's a nice L Miller shilling stamped copy :)

Miller certainly got involved didn't they...

No interest in King or the Phantom's six fingers I see. Shame.

We're stuck on 18 of a possible 24. Popeye seems reluctant to show his hand, if he exists. I haven't found a UK title that published Popeye around the same time, so it seems odd if he wasn't picked up given that all the other titles King were producing for this 4 month period were.

Time will tell. Here's another big Mandrake while we wait. The small one didn't seem to get anyone's attention  :)

Eye eye!

I picked up a BB #61 finally. Very hard to find these are:

Still no sign of Popeye. But as the recent Journey into Mystery #65 shows (see Marvel pence thread) you can never say never.

Zero interest in this thread though still which is a shame. Seems to be the same with Archie, Dell and Gold Key. I thought this site was full of comic lovers?

Anyway, here's the latest current confirmed pence printed price figures, as anticipated keenly, as always, by Three Men and a Dog Like Sparkenwood:

  • Marvel - 3,017 confirmed pence priced variants - down one due to calculation error! :frown:
  • DC - 840 confirmed pence priced variants - up one due to calculation error! :)
  • Charlton - 436 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 832 issues) - up 21 since last report! :)
  • Dell - 204 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 424 issues) - up 6 since last report! :)
  • Gold Key - 104 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 168 issues) - up 6 since last report! :)
  • Archie - 21 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 48 issues) - no change :|
  • King - 17 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 24 issues) - no change :|

About time we had an update :)

Here's the latest current confirmed pence printed price figures:

  • Marvel - 3,018 confirmed pence priced variants - up 1 due to a JIM #65 find (a true flippin Nora moment for those in the knowing knowledge of the know all etc) :whatthe:
  • DC - 840 confirmed pence priced variants - static!
  • Charlton - 448 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 833 issues) - up 12 since last report!
  • Dell - 205 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 424 issues) - up 1 since last report!
  • Gold Key - 104 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 168 issues) - static!
  • Archie - 24 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 48 issues) - up 3 since last report!
  • King - 18 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 24 issues) - up 1 since last report!

This makes 4,657 confirmed first printing UK price variants across the seven confirmed publishers

It won't take you long to collect them all

As for the first ever pence priced variant?

Well, Archie #108 (March 1960) currently stands out on his own at present - the only known March 1960 cover / indicia dated book I have found (although he may end up tying with some other Archie titles):

The Adventures of Mighty Mouse #146 follows as the first Dell (April 1960) but ties with quite a few other Dell titles, winning only alphabetically:

Marvel's first two titles follow in May 1960 - Gunsmoke Western #58 (an L Miller distribution indicia) and Journey into Mystery #58 (with a Thorpe & Porter distribution indicia):

And Charlton makes his first appearance with Konga #1 (June 1960) standing alone:

DC, King and Gold Key were far too lazy to join in, coming much later....

Well, not much love for the Kings is there.

I gave you flash.thumb.jpg.ddacb2f4c4e275674b83f538b3126854.jpg and mandrake.thumb.jpg.bfd8ac55aabcfa6a5e1074df2b9dd348.jpg the Magician and even The phantom.thumb.jpg.c9c834713b450e6b84d578029875732e.jpg

But all to no avail. And still no 10d Popeyes! What would Olive say....:sorry:

How did you know that I'm a baldie?

Still unsure about what you mean exactly by "King Comics Postages".
