King comics pence price variant

Cheers @nesqrick2 !

Here's the current King chart:

king.thumb.PNG.8b87f7e61667ad0a55ab6531998681d2.PNG

King Comics existed between August 66 and January 68. I plotted all 7 titles then set about looking for their pence copies. The results are quite telling, and it looks very much like the King only managed four months on the pence throne - August 1967 to November 1967. I have full sets of Blondie and Mandrake, and most of the others. Not sure why Popeye has yet to get a look in? Jungle Jim missed the boat entirely and Beetle Bailey has been stuck on one copy since I began the search.

Here's the books for Blondie and Mandrake. He's a fine one isn't he. And I do like a companion in a fez! (click the pics to enlarge) :headbang:

Hi Steve - I did see your stuff above but any and all attempts that I made to open them failed.  Thanks for exploding it.

I have a copy of Turok 22 dual priced.  I'll attempt to post here later or will attempt to send it to you.

23 and 25 exist in dual prices as well.  I saw both at Superworld's booth a few years ago at the NYC con I think it was.  Don't have copies of those or photos.  23 also exists as a pence only version.  I THINK that I have a photo of that and if I can dig it out I will post as well or will try to send to you.

For Turok, issues 20 to 24 may exist if the date parameters I have set are correct. I have found three of them so far - 20, 21 and 24:

... . So it may be that 22, 23 don't exist either

You mean like this one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TUROK-SON-OF-STONE-22-FR-G-1-5-DELL-COMICS-DECEMBER-1960/131622433934

Thanks!  Saw that one yesterday and would have posted it but was looking for a more visible "9D" for Redshade so I picked the #21 instead lol  No need to post my #22 then lol

I'll keep looking for the 23 though...

My go-to reference site is the Grand Comics Database.

I looked up Turok and there are NO pence copies on there, hence my erroneous statement earlier.

I should have researched eBay before I  put my foot in my mouth. doh!

PS. Good to see Marwood's back.

It's a great site for the more well known titles, but not so much for pence variants of the less popular ones I find. One day, I'll upload everything I have and fill a gap or two!

Found a few more Archie's at the London Fair. Will post the summary soon....

Marwood,

Don't know if you've seen this. Might come in handy for your forthcoming Dell/Gold Key pence thread.

I tried to copy the images in here, but I'm doing this at work & the server freaked out over it.

Cheers

That's a great site rakehell. Lots of good reading and all those reference links to other sites are going to take up a lot of my weekend perusing. I don't collect Star Trek material but it looks as though it could be fun and relatively inexpensive.:)

@Get Marwood & I As much as I love explosions, please don't do it to any of the pence price variants, regardless of what @pemart1966 says. If you absolutely have to, at least film it and post it here :wishluck:

Too late! Mandrake lit the fuse last night Ryan.

Congratulations on your two thousand, two hundred and twenty second post by the way. We should never let these achievements go unrecognised :headbang:
