Courage had some very strange stuff in it at times. I just loved it.   I do not know if Cartoon Network played out in the British Isles. It was a very short run but it was just hysterical.

I loved little Courage and as you wrote a very strange cartoon for children.:foryou:

I remember them using boneless as a frisbee and he got thrown on the roof.   Just perfect....

I would like to know anything of Fleiss's career, or lack thereof. Mom's everywhere would be so relieved.

And then of course there was "Daria" which was clearly an existential threat.  And how could I leave out "Dexter's Laboratory"? Courage was a strange cartoon for Adults, screw the kids...

Yesterday, I was looking for my DVD of game 4 of the 2004 ALCS baseball playoffs and instead found my four English DVD's of Cow and Chicken which were AWOL for three years .  The rest of the day was a total waste.  I do note Marwood slumming around in the AF15 thread.

Yes, I saw that too. He's been punished Pete, and sent to bed without any broth.

Morning Pardners :)

Here's two new Cowboy 'pence copies', courtesy of some fine Sunday Fair box diving:

263467829_TexasRangersinAction30(Vol.1)October1961(6d).thumb.jpg.1e67692d4397c47edf7b1c4acdbe9b5e.jpg  2042343222_SheriffofTombstone17(Vol.1)September1961(6d).thumb.jpg.c5e80bb2b7d4fd8b631f1280a4d5d658.jpg

And look, no stupid captions :censored:

But wait! I hear you cry! These are not pence copies! These are cents copies with pence price stickers! >:(

No they aint.

Those in the know of the knowing know all knowledge know that the cents copies for these two books have a dirty great 'STILL' word in the price balloon (balloon? It's a rectangle surely. Or an oblong. And a wonky one at that)

Observe:

sot17c.jpg.b655edbe9d0155cbd9d50ffc252ec9a9.jpg  sotp.jpg.2a22345e9a45e106e14faf7d44cf8b82.jpg

See?

It's patently obvious to three men and a dog like Sparkenwood that these are in fact 6d L Miller copies with 9d price stickers! There's inflation for you. Were they cents copies you would be able to see the 'STILL' poking it's big capital letter font head out from behind the sticker wouldn't you. And anyway, I looked at it with a torch and a magnifying glass(man), in the dark and everything.

So it pays to know your price balloons. Oblongs, sorry. Alright, wonky oblongs. Jesus, you lot!

Now, The Sheriff, or to give him his full name 'The Sheriff of Tombstone' completes the Miller pence copy set assuming Marwood hasn't 'done a Gold Key' and sodded up the date range:

sot.thumb.PNG.ca96d17ade63b0c172f0b39ac1d09f03.PNG

Five Sheriffs. What an arresting sight. Heh heh. Arresting. Did you like that? No? Well sod ya then

Taint no way I'll be attempting a sticker lift, so I'll be keeping em (un)peeled for a stickerless copy. In the meantime, here they be :)

Choice!

I shot the Sheriff (of Tombstone), and I paid a heavy price for it upon my eventual capture

Even though I don't collect them, I couldn't resist this 10c beauty at the fair yesterday. And it's nice sometimes to compare them with your pence copy, just to make sure you haven't missed any subtle differences. And indeed a difference there was!

One is a solid, nicely centered copy with strong colouring :)

And the other is my pence copy

I only need the 15cv and I'll have the set!

Nice C-12-13 written on the 10c copy too. Wonder what that stands for hm

How about an arrival date December 13th. No idea about the C, maybe the first initial of the person who did it?

April's copy arrived in December?

I'll ask Clive

(And a dodgy looking old bloke)

Few people know that readers could write in and suggest an outfit for Margie. If successful, their suggestions would feature on the covers with a confirmation. Here are some examples :)

Unfortunately, I cannot show in full the suggestion from Barry from East Dulwich.

Still on the subject of MLM, here's a cents copy from 64 but still with a British angle. Firstly, someone took the trouble to hand write a 9d price on Ringo's drums and secondly, well, it's The Beatles, Blighty's gift to mop-top-pop:

beat.thumb.jpg.f3983d9b77b3dfe16f9fb54d788f4064.jpg

Not my copy - courtesy of the bay.

Ringo looks himself doesn't he Capture.PNG.aedb5f06e34e11ed7f722268202daed0.PNG

And MLM spends some time moonin' over the Fab Four inside:

beat2.thumb.jpg.73e6fec4daa88ef65be5354b6ba52acb.jpg

Cos when she touches them, she feels happy, inside. It's such a feeling that her love - she can't hide. She can't hide. She can't hide.

A period of chemical induced absence ensues....
