Still on the subject of MLM, here's a cents copy from 64 but still with a British angle. Firstly, someone took the trouble to hand write a 9d price on Ringo's drums and secondly, well, it's The Beatles, Blighty's gift to mop-top-pop:

beat.thumb.jpg.f3983d9b77b3dfe16f9fb54d788f4064.jpg

Not my copy - courtesy of the bay.

Ringo looks himself doesn't he Capture.PNG.aedb5f06e34e11ed7f722268202daed0.PNG

And MLM spends some time moonin' over the Fab Four inside:

beat2.thumb.jpg.73e6fec4daa88ef65be5354b6ba52acb.jpg

Cos when she touches them, she feels happy, inside. It's such a feeling that her love - she can't hide. She can't hide. She can't hide.

A period of chemical induced absence ensues....

Excellent representation of the fab four, they do look like 'em, as these waxworks show.

Ha! They're not the ones at the old wax works in Great Yarmouth are they? Worst wax works I've ever seen lol

Shouldn't take you too long Fog. And they'll likely be cents copies if you do. Report back when you've found one won't you :)

Ev'ry body Kon-ga! Ev'ry body Kon-ga! :banana::banana:

The other chap on planet Earth who likes Charlton comics brought this cracker to my attention last week:

1015017496_Konga515cVariant.jpg.76e0cdf6d8f063389de97ff6e5ebaa15.jpg

He spotted it on a site that can't be mentioned for legal reasons. Yes, that one.

Oh, how I wish it was mine Harrumph!.gif.c810220490aa6a56b5b543add384c12a.gif

But it isn't. Still, it's confirmed now, our tenth Charlton 15 ceevee:

I've updated my chart and everything :)

Ev'ry body Kon-ga! Ev'ry body Kon-ga! :banana::banana:

It's just occurred to me that no one probably knows what song that is hm

No matter.

For the last 800 years it has been assumed that Konga #2 was not penceificated. That's a technical term, meaning "produced with a UK Price Variant", and anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

Well, here he is at last:

619160028_Konga2(Vol.1)August1961(6d).thumb.jpg.d837a51cb0f5cd40505235795daa7adb.jpg

Making each word bigger in line with the 'grew and grew' text was a clever idea. But then again they were always going to run out of room weren't they.

Only number 6 is missing now, for Konga Pencea 2121132000_PrisonerCrystalBall.gif.d440c6a16df4cae5a8ab2b504e81000d.gif

Typical.

For Def: 3, 4, 5, 9, 11, 13 & 15.

Here's two more recent acquisitions, in typically rotten condition.

700520036_HotRodsandRacingCars52(Vol.1)June1961(6d).thumb.jpg.143b60a6a910b0be9849f59db6a3f1f7.jpg

I do like Clint Curtis. Always just one printing slip away from profanity. And who can resist "Cha-Cha Mingo!" :cloud9:

I'll say that again - "Cha-Cha Mingo"...

"Cha-Cha Mingo"

Here's Paul's' old copy of 'Submarine Attack!' #40

1993978166_SubmarineAttack40(Vol.2)July1963(9d).thumb.jpg.8e2c07c4c7b951f4f80058f0a0fca577.jpg

Note the 'little family fish' gatecrashing the cover there. Maybe they were the 'BIG ANSWER'? hm

I said that to the wife the other day by the way. "Honey, you sure have got a big answer". She punched me. Cow.

Didn't the former Soviet Union get the memo that submarines are supposed to "Run silent, Run deep"?

"R-R-R-R KLANK KLUNK RUMBLE"

Now THERE's your problem . . .
