I went to this new exhibit today and thought I'd share my pics. I really enjoyed the show and was impressed at the assemblage of art, props, interactive displays, and history.  I didn't photo everything, and the lighting made it a little tough to take great pics so I apologize for the quality. Once uploaded, I'll post a link to some videos I took that show off the space and original art better.

MoPOP museum right by the space needle.  You can read more about the exhibit here.   https://www.mopop.org/marvel/?from=home

The collection was very impressive.  I noticed a lot of the art came from Eric Roberts.  He's got one hell of a nice collection.

It starts with a cool 7 min movie about Marvel's history,  They gave Kirby a lot of love which was nice.  It slanted a little Avengers heavy towards the end, but that's understandable.

Next up was the Golden Age era which included some pulp and strip history.

Great line work on this strip.  I wish they had a original pulp cover.

I was surprised to see any Timely art, so a page from Marvel #1 was a treat.  I hope it's not the only surviving piece from the book.

They had a small amount of key comics on display but most took a back seat to the Art/history/process/props.

This Marvel #1 was the only one that was graded, and for some reason the cover looks much better in person than in repros.

I like how they sectioned off each area.  This part was dedicated to the FF and the start of Marvel's silver age.

The thing was very popular.  They had a cool cityscape screen behind him that had different random things happening, like galactus wandering through etc.

I hope the Af15 pages don't turn out to be Mark Landis originals...

The Ditko art was a special treat.  I chatted with the curator and he said the AF15 page was the most expensive thing to insure.

The craftsmanship and textures of the Cap costume was exquisite.  Somethings you just don't really notice in the movies.  Same with seeing Dr. Strange's costume up close.

This was a great Steve Rude painting commissioned just for the show.

The curator told me a life sized Hulk vs Thor sculpture will be coming soon, it just wasn't quite ready for the opening.  I look forward to that.

I’m not sure on the cost of a visit because I’m a member.

Cost for adult admission is $34 prepaid online which is a pretty good deal if they allow people to take pics of the original comic art and props (without flash on?). Plus one gets to see the side exhibits also which I imagine are horror and sci-fi collectibles. I will try to drive down to Seattle on Friday for this special Marvel exhibit. (thumbsu

That sounds fantastic unfortunately I live in Ireland, however thank you for the photos they are much appreciated. Was there a booklet of the event as that would be nice to own.

I was looking for something like that but didn't see anything.  How cool would a HQ OG art reprint book have been???   They gave me a mini poster....

It's actually really different to the massive display we had here in Brisbane last year. Way more comic art, and a bigger focus on the comics than ours. We also didn't have the life-size Thing, but the life-size movie Hulkbuster IM made up for it.
