hey everyone

next year marks the 20th anniversary of CGC

I cant believe cgc has been around so long now- its surreal.

I think the hobby as a whole has been the better for it with less resto scams, more consistent grading etc

thoughts?

Isn't weed legal in Oregon?  Get to it.

Yeah - there's a dispensary on every corner.  It's a wonder anything at all gets accomplished anymore.

I want the new slabs to be easier to crack.

Have you tried the long standard screwdriver trick?  Works like a charm on those outer wells!

They opened in late '99.

Sorta.  I think they had early adopters "Charter Members" for 100 slots in late '99, but they weren't "officially open to the public" until January 4, 2000.

Agreed that their 20th anniversary is at least a year and a half away.

Edited:  I found a definitive source... it was January 4, 2000.

I think the grading and encapsulation began a couple of months before they became official to the general public, and recall some first generation slabs without any page quality designation appearing in dealer hands before 2000.

Yes, the charter members were doing encapsulation prior to January 4, 2000.
