It's a vastly underrated series.  Terrific Murphy Anderson art in most.  Perhaps the best writing of any Silver Age DC series.  You can't go wrong with it.

I loved the fantastical stories from Gardner Fox, and Murphy Anderson's art couldn't be better. Both him and Joe Kubert did a fantastic job with Hawkman. I constantly go back and forth on the best Hawkman artist.

Although we did get the best of both worlds in Atom and Hawkman 40-41 with Kubert inked by Anderson. Truly a treat!

GCD shows that the only Kubert involvement in the Atom and Hawkman series is the covers - both pencils and inks.

Interesting. I'm not aware of the acronym GCD. What does it stand for?

Regardless here is issue 40...

Sorry GCD = Grand Comics Database.

My mistake entirely.   GCD does indeed show Kubert as artist on these two issues.  I hadn't realized that there were 2 separate stories in those issues (had it in my mind that these were all team ups) and I only scrolled as far as the first story - which is the Atom story.
