Here's a wee bit more about Squa Tront.  First, two interior pages from #6, published in '75.

An unpublished Al Williamson sketch:

Squa6Williamson.thumb.jpg.18d0e569f1a1aafa23bed6bb74c42b6a.jpg

The ish featured an extended interview with Bernie Krigstein and this, an essay on the importance of his work 'Master Race', published in Impact #1 in 1955 and one of the first pieces in the media to deal frankly with the Holocaust.  One of the essay authors is Art Spiegelman, who was affected by Krigstein's work in a way that may have prompted creation of the Pulitzer Prize masterpiece 'Maus'.  Spiegelman later described to The New Yorker: "The two tiers of wordless staccato panels that climax the story... have often been described as 'cinematic', a phrase thoroughly inadequate to the achievement: Krigstein condenses and distends time itself... Reissman's life floats in space like the suspended matter in a lava lamp. The cumulative effect carries an impact—simultaneously visceral and intellectual—that is unique to comics."

Marvel Mirror #3 & #4 , special double issue which is funny considering it’s 6 pages double sided including front and back covers.  1968, circulation 250 copies.  #1 is sold out and there are 13 copies left of # 2.  Published by Greg Kissel.

The Loss Of An Essence

complaining about the loss of a difficult to define Marvel essence, comparing the powerful Amazing Fantasy 15 to current issues with swingin chicks fawning all over Peter Parker and corny wisecrack filled cutely humorous fight scenes

the Fifth Column talks about comic and sci Gi fans as being the fifth column and this subculture is wider and bigger than imagined.  This is the mature fan, more intelligent than non fans

I lived in Chicago at the time, and my girlfriend/later wife and I went to all three Warp shows.  I remember that each ended in a cliffhanger, just like the Marvel multi-issue story arcs of the day.  Adams was the artistic director, and I still have that program for the second episode.  The poster advertising the original New York version of the play is epic Adams:

What a coincidence that I would post those and you were there.  Cool poster.

Not that huge of a happenstance considering both of us are into comic books.    Thanks for posting your Warp memorabilia.

Here's an Adams page I have scanned from the program to Warp II, providing a summary of what happened in Warp I for those who may not have seen it (each episode ran for something like two weeks, if I remember correctly).
