I've never collected fanzines, but recently read Bill Schelly's book about comic fandom and really enjoyed it...it has quite a few images of early fanzine covers and interior art:

It's interesting that several (many?) professional comic writers and artists started out in comic fandom...

Thanks for the additions.  Some of the Comic Readers have value and/or have first appearances.  For instance #139 has the first appearance of Black Lightning and #179 has the April Fool's Stan Lee obituary cover

Here's a great book about the first NY Comic Con and really the beginning of organized fandom

Ok, now that I've come out of my Young Berni stupor....

Here's an Albedo fanzine that I recently picked up. Don't know much of anything about it, but thought it looked cool. Plus...Albedo, so.... Posted it in the Albedo thread in Copper Age, but feel like it should be in here as well for posterity:

A cool record of 'Music in the Albedo Universe' attached on the inside:

Some of the best articles analyzing comics and comic movies is in the newer SDCC convention souvenir books:

1981 Sydney Australia Comic Convention handbook.

The cover is all of the Australian characters known at that time. It was the third Australian Convention:

Posted (edited)

Alter Ego 1 from 1961. This copy includes the "Bestest League of America" story, so true first printing.
