I enjoy chasing the Marvel Legends reprints that came with the action figures (or any comic that came inserted in the packaging). They can also be tough in grade too.

I’ve been looking for those too. I found the best way to get high grade is to buy the action figures in package and surgically remove the books.

I imagine most ppl opening those packages folded the books across the spine in doing so, based on the package design.

I consider the first two issues of Marvel Tales and the first four issues of Marvel Collector Items Classics an integral part of my Silver Age collection.

To complete my runs I collected Marvel Milestone Editions for the books I cannot afford to buy...

ASM 129, Avengers 1, F.F 1, Hulk 1, TOS 39, X-Men 1.I also have Marvel Tales 137/138 to complete my run of ASM.

I also use the earliest reprints as a way to finish my runs -- like the reprints of Daredevil 1-7 found in various Marvel Super Heroes. Others I just went the old TPB route like in the case of Journey Into Mystery 83-100. Sure wish I had held onto those Marvels Greatest Comics and Marvel Tales I let go of as I start working on a silver age FF run.

I can't believe they reprinted X-Men #30.  Isn't that a dollar bin book?  I've got at least 3 copies.

Perhaps.

Isn't the new x-men (gold?) #30 a wedding issue as well?

Yeah, X-Men: Gold #30 was a wedding issue as well.  I never thought about the parallels that both issue 30's are wedding issues until you put Gold in parentheses.  I will say this though, the cover to X-Men (vol2) #30 is one of the more iconic X covers to me.

Great topic. I enjoyed looking at all the books. I have been working on a run of Marvel Collectors Item Classics in VF or better. Not as easy as you may think. Those square-bound covers tend to disintegrate.

I enjoyed getting these signed by Stan. Regrettably, I have come to believe that the Dynamic Forces "Jack Kirby" signatures are not authentic.

I was on the wedding line of thinking b/c one the FF books in the pile says wedding of Sue and Reed,  and these were on the rack at the same time, while I was in store to get Batman 50.
