Error in Grade

Had a DC comics presents 26 graded. Came back a 9.2. I purchased the grader notes and it said, foxing on back cover. There is no foxing. The back cover is very nice. I even had a LCS guy look at it. How do you get a grade disputed. Is it even possible? Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. Follow up question, why do you have to pay to get the grader notes. That should be a free service.

you should call CGC and ask about grade dispute for the specifics.  But generally I think you would just pay to have it regarded, and if they end up having made an obvious significant mistake they might do the regrade for free (I don't know about shipping costs).  But I think its somewhat case-by-case so you may as well call CGC.

As for the grader note question, you can probably call and ask them about it, but for better or worse its a business decision they've made and probably have internal reasons for doing so which they would be unlikely to make public.  Or maybe I'm wrong and they've addressed it somewhere, but I don't think so?

If you submitted the book, the grader's notes are free. Why did you think you needed to purchase them ? It's possible the foxing is on the interior of the Back Cover ? There really is no process for a grade dispute. If you call, they will probably tell you they stand by their grade but you are welcome to send it in for a resubmit.

If memory serves, grading notes used to be free. Unfortunately they aren't anymore. The good thing is that they're still available to the submitter who paid to have it graded.  (thumbsu

As far as the grading dispute, I believe you could have the book in question reviewed, but you should call CGC first to discuss the situation first. Also, please bear in mind that the foxing may be on the interior of the back cover, and the grader didn't specify that detail in his notes. I hope this helps, and good luck!   :)
