Captain Thunder vs. Captain Marvel 0

Does anyone know if the Captain Thunder story in Flash Comics 1 Ashcan is the same as the Captain Marvel story in Whiz 2(1). And if not what is the difference. Thanks

You can read the story in volume 1 of the Capt. Marvel Archives published by DC.  It is re-lettered in Whiz 2, but same art.

Found it on eBay. Awesome looks like it contains flash 1 and whiz 1 reprints. Thx again
