Geoff Johns Out/In/Something

Interesting. And Jim Lee taking over.

I'll say this -- Jim Lee's done a _great_ job with the Justice League title over the past few years.

Also - worth reading: http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/snyder-cut-justice-league-geoff-johns/

Notes that, per Vulture editor Kyle Buchanan, Geoff Johns basically ignored Chris Terrio's -script during the filming of Justice League -- and the resulting dailies so freaked out the Warner Bros. execs that they held a "summit" of writers and directors to view the scenes and suggest fixes.

They were:

  • Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman)
  • Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies)
  • Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton)
  • Joss Whedon (Avengers)

Which led to Whedon getting the gig.

Really hoping all the changes over the last 6 months will get the DC movies on the right track.  I've enjoyed them despite their obvious lack of perfection, but would be great to see some really consistently great films from them.

Not to hijack this thread, I read this yesterday on Instagram, Johns to write Green Lantern Corp movie.  Then a few searches this morning, found this:

And his new production company, Mad Ghost Productions: http://www.madghostproductions.com/

Not hijacking at all -- the Deadline article at top notes some details of Johns' production deal:

His first film projects will be Warner Bros. Pictures’ Green Lantern Corps, based on his New York Times bestselling series that saw an impressive nine-year run, spawning additional spin-off titles and comic book events. Johns will write and be a producer on the film. Additionally, he co-wrote and executive produced Aquaman, which releases worldwide December 21, and is writing and executive producing the second installment of the Wonder Woman franchise with director Patty Jenkins, releasing in November 2019. New Line’s Shazam!, slated for an April 2019 release, is based on his original graphic novel.

Since this post is practically dead I'm going to hijack it.

Speaking of dead, has anybody checked on @Bosco685?  It's uncharacteristic of him to not hit his 20 post daily averagelol.

All is well. I just was taking a break from the boards for a little while. But good to see I can bring a laugh out of you.
