Will CGC have a booth in Vancouver? Since I don't they'll be doing Calgary again, it's the easiest option for us Canadians not wanting to cross the border for ECCC

If anything, CGC should abandon Fan Expo Vancouver and support growing Fan Expos like Calgary and Edmonton that have stronger vendor, customer and :kidaround: fan support.

Friends and I have begin making plans in going to see some speech panels to watch media guests talk about stuff. I’m still waiting for time schedule on comic artists, so I can go get a few books signed and sketches from them.

+1. Bit strange that 2 comics vendors I know have not got a call or email back yet to confirm their 5 booths after 2+ months wait. Hopefully, some FEV flyers will be available and distributed locally by :whatev: this Wed., a scant 2.5 weeks before the Expo.

Yes, I know... our interpreter services had issues in arranging interpreting schedule for this FEV weekend. They need information on which speech panels with what time slot and which day to pen in their schedule. Been like that for since until last minute. We know who (media guest or comic artist/writer) we want to watch their speech, interpreting service ask me “Yes, that’s good ... but what day and time should I pen in for schedule?” I had to tell them that FEV don’t have information posted up yet.

How am I to tell them when I have no details to give? Drives me nuts :screwy:

My friend and me were just talking about the upcoming ECCC next Spring, He was bit freaked out when I said I want to go for the full weekend. Cause I am nuts, that’s why. I need that if my luck holds when the day come to buy a ticket.

Bit strange. No flyers for FEV being distributed at Vancouver's largest comic & hobby shop downtown. About 2 weeks left until Expo.

Visited the 2nd largest comic shop in the Vancouver area. They had not received any flyers for FEV either. Nada, zip so I guess FEV is relying on Facebook advertising, Twitter and 2c email networking in lieu of any paper or display ads in Entertainment journals.

Not a good sign when all (if assumed that is all comic book stores) didn’t get any flyers for FEV. Yet, our local little comic book shows were able to put flyers in these stores with plenty of time ahead. I guess FEV wants to be paper-free, going full time in digital style?

Curious to see how it plays out on attendance.

How many comic stores are left in Vancouver? We still have a lot here in Edmonton.

In YVR area:

1. Golden Age Collectables

2. Big Pete's Toys

3. Taz Comics

4. Imp Hobbies but mostly model kits

5. Hourglass Comics w/ some gaming

6. Chris Wise's warehouse but mainly sportscards, rookie cards

7. Comic Scene: small, tight shop way out in suburbs

8. The Comicshop

9. Comic store in Delta but never been there

10. Comic Land should have closed 18 months ago. Not open during daytime.

Comic/gaming card store on Victoria Drive closed after 18 months. Central City Comix closed a couple of months ago for 'personal reasons' after 15 years in suburbs.

11. Four Aces Comics recently changes hands after over 22 years in business. Visited once as way out in suburbs.

12. 8th Dimension Comics. Changed ownership last year. Visited once since.
