Some tough romance and GGA books for sale. Nothing I'm extremely eager to part with, but I feel the hot breath of the Paypal Credit hounds behind me.

First 'takeit' wins, whether in the thread or via PM.

New payment policies; please read!
-- For payments under $300, I will accept Paypal, check or money order. Shipping is extra at exact cost.
-- For payments of $300+, I am now asking all buyers to provide payment via check or money order. On an experimental basis and as a way of saying thank you for the extra effort, I will now ship $300+ orders for free.
-- Please be able to pay within a week.
Any questions, feel free to PM. Thanks!

DEAR LONELY HEARTS #4, #7 & #8, avg 2.0/2.5! If you're like me... and I fear you just might be... the sleazier 1950s romance books hold a certain perverse fascination, and the Comic Media titles circa 1953-1954 were at the top of the trash heap. Some totally wild stories scattered through these issues, such as:

"First Night On The Farm!" A young woman from the city finally meets a 'sensitive gentleman farmer' she's been corresponding with, only to find he's a sexual predator eager to get to know her in all the wrong ways! Really lurid stuff.

"Heartache Into Horror!" A young woman is menaced by a serial killer, who may or may not be her boyfriend.

"Unwed Mother!" The title speaks for itself. Very risqué subject matter for the times.

"Young In Heart!" A young woman's older boyfriend is seduced by her mother!

These books have become completely impossible to find in any grade at all. This trio averages Good/Good+...lower-grade reading copies as shown, but all with nice pages.

$450 / set of 3

ANNIE OAKLEY #2 & #3 Canadian. A duo of super tough Canadian versions of Timely's Annie Oakley. The books are lower-grade, but the covers present beautifully, with absolutely electric red inks that put most US editions to shame.

-- #2 is a nice 4.5; clean cover with minimal color-breaking wear, some light rumpling & wear to back cover; 3/4" tear on the open edge of all pages.
-- #3 is 2.5/3.0 range, with a fair amount of NCB rumpling to covers; centerfold is loose & has a piece of tape on it. Both books have white/OW pages.

$350 / set of 2  SOLD

JUNIOR MISS #34 in 3.5. Incredibly tough GGA/teen book. No recorded sales ever in GPA or Heritage! Lower-grade, but relatively clean cover with vibrant red colors give it strong eye appeal. Some pages in the back have a 1/4" tear on the open edge. White pages, unusually nice.

$250  SOLD

CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED #32 in 5.0. Cover-to-cover Matt Baker. Vibrant cover inks. Underrated book. I assume it's a first printing or at least an early one, but I have no idea. (Edit: Should be a printing from the late 40s/early 50s; I will investigate further.) Copyright date is Dec 1946. Cream/offwhite pages. Price reduced!

$100  $50  SOLD

Last one,

INTIMATE CONFESSIONS #1 in 1.8. Classic cover. Eye appeal is way strong but pages are slightly brittle with chips and rounding at corners. The book is supple overall and with reasonable care it can be read without any damage. (I read it; it's great!) Uncommon in any grade.

$395

This is a later printing as the original had the yellow banner across the whole top of the comic and it read Classic Comics across the top. Later reprintings changed it to Classics Illustrated and the shorter yellow box . Cool book either way and it’s all Baker art, so GLWTS.
