VAULT OF HORROR #15
Grade: 4.5 VG +
Price: $250

OCT 1950; Off white to white pages. This is a striking cover, from the yellow logo against an indigo background, to Johnny Craig's graveyard scene. Inside Craig, Feldstein, Ingels, and Kamen draw more scary stuff better than anyone (not working on other EC books). From the Gary Arlington collection, known for bright colors and supple pages. COA included.

VAULT OF HORROR #18
Grade: 6.0 FN
Price: $400

APR 1951; Cream to off white pages. The horror comics produced by EC Comics are arguably the best ever. Graham Ingels and Jack Kamen, and other great artists, illustrated gut-wrenching stories which have influenced every medium using the horror format. This issue has an excellent cover by Johnny Craig. The look of terror on the man's face contrasts nicely with the romantic, unsuspecting features of the woman, as the ghoul rises from the well behind them. From the Gary Arlington collection, known for bright colors and supple pages. COA included.

FEB 1952; Off white to white pages. Al Feldstein's buried alive cover is all the hook we needed to get interested in this book, but its just an appetizer for the corresponding story in the book, drawn by Jack Davis and featuring not just a twist, but a twist on a twist ... VAULT OF HORROR #28

JAN 1953; Cream to off white pages. One of Johnny Craig's most famous horror covers headlines this EC favorite. VAULT OF HORROR #32
Grade: 5.0 VG/FN
Price: $350

SEP 1953; Off white to white pages. Johnny Craig's cover art for this issue is one of the most famous/infamous in comic book history. The original version shows the ghoul with a meat clever planted in his head. The meat clever was removed by EC, and replaced by a starburst. Of course, EC had already garnered a well-deserved reputation for 'pushing the envelope' in matters of taste, making this hasty censorship a bit ironic. From the Gary Arlington collection, known for bright colors and supple pages. COA included.
