What is the most you ever spent on a comic for your collection and not for selling? 4 4

Around $1250 for a CBCS9.2  X-men #94 3 years ago. Although I most likely will sell it (assuming I live long enough) someday. No intention of selling for a good 20-30 years though.

A book I always will have is a Transformers #1 CGC 9.4 which I paid $100 for 4 years ago. The most I would ever pay for a keeper is about that much.

I got a Journey into Mystery #633 "Venom" variant earlier this year for $250.  Won't be selling it because I'm hoping to collect all (or most) of the original 2012 "Venom" variants.

Before my wife and I adopted two boys, my comic budget was nice. I would bring between 7-10K to SDCC and pretty much have my 1 or 2 books pre ordered from Rick Whitelock, or Bob Storms. Since my boys are now 8 and 5 , and I can usually make only payments on even cheap stuff, but even though my budget is at my lowest level ever, I would'nt change a thing. Thank God my sellers are patient with my payment terms around here.

I doubt I'll ever make a purchase bigger than this one...  I bought this one here on the boards for $8500 about 10 years ago.
